Or finally admit the end of FFR as it's been anticipated for quite some time.

Love the whole "FFR is dead" thing that gets brought up every time. It's been a walking corpse since it came back FYI if you want to be literal

Look, FFR is not going to die unless either:

1: Suddenly everyone stops coming to this site including people who may or may not even be registered

2: Synthlight or wherever the server is gets cut.

You seem to know what's going on.
Could we get maybe an estimate for how long this will last?
An explanation for people who don't know how the scoreboards work, perhaps?
Is there a possibility of increased number of replay slots to offset the fact a lot of people are/soon will be capped?
Perhaps a front page post explaining all this, or at least mentioning it at all?

I mean yes I could ask all this in staff Slack if I wanted to, but what about the people who are like, not devs... c'mon guys

All I know was already posted in the general channel in Slack. Replays cannot be deleted to track users that have a score registered on rates (just a preventive measure, that information is stored elsewhere apparently). I don't know how long or where we currently are with the recovery attempts.

Imo, I think having 150? slots is more than enough but I'm not against increasing that to 200 or 300. Having an option to download your own replays would be interesting as well.

I won't hide the fact that when I first saw that thread, I considered completely stopping the Manual Score Recovery thing. Even thinking about leaving the website at this point, I'm really disappointed by all of this. I won't do it because I do care about the community and I do care about how scoring data is treated here. Am I the only one that cares about all of this ? I'm sure devs do, but how can we know if they don't express themselves ?

These past months, I've felt like defending staff because they are the easy target and we don't see the amount of work they have to do - only a small percentage of us kind of know what's going on behind the scenes. Gonna speak for myself there, but the amount of shit I have to manage goes completely unnoticed, and it doesn't phase me at this point because I'm used to it. But I mean, everytime someone makes a mention or thank me for the work I'm making here, goddamn it makes me feel good and that's the only reason why I'm still here. The ONLY way people are gonna take your side is when you're informing and telling the community about the stuff you're handling because how would they know ?

Being able to download Replays would be totally worth pursuing because not only would we have screenshots, replays would be more beneficial in not only creating milestones for ourselves, finding out where we as players could improve on certain songs, and saving a replay is faster and easier than taking a screenshot (that is if you don't use the imgur upload feature in R^3).

Also I agree with hi19. A front page post explaining general questions or concerns about this whole thing would be very beneficial for the community and make it so a player doesn't view this thread and go "Well first it was Score Purge and now incorrect scores coming from replays, this game is ruined" rather than looking on the front page and getting a proper understanding of what is happening and the measures taken to fix the current errors that have been approached.

Thank you so much noname for your effort in score recovering! I had a lot of really good scores missing, but after what you did, none seems to be missing!

GOOD JOB!

As irritated as I have been with how this is going on, I will say that I've actually mentioned what you're doing and how it is incredibly commendable. Full disclosure: I considered you kinda pushy and borderline annoying (internally, never really said it until a few days ago in the process of actually complimenting you) at times, but what you are doing now is a huge service to this community, and you very much deserved to be recognized.

The fact that you're providing more transparency than relevant staff about what has been going on in is an atrocity on their part (but good for you).

Keep doing what you're doing.

I'm not sure how I feel about the implications of relevant staff not learning from previous mistakes

but whatever might come from an atrociously incompetent "team" of volunteers who have stated over and over just how much they don't care about this site and community, I will not be here to see it

Haven't read out the entire thread yet but just wanted to point out that there is a lot of rally for you in skype groups in wanting you to become administrator because of how much work you do. People want you to do Front Page Posts and Song of the Week uploads just because of how much time and effort you dump into the FFR Wiki, which just by itself amazes me considering that it's updated frequently every couple of hours since 2 years ago in JULY.

It's went from 7 articles to 3,837 articles within that time, and 95% of the work was from you, noname. Believe me when I say, if you ask for thanks & support, you're gonna get it.
