Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
I swear I'm the only one that doesn't find Largiloquent ridiculous, even though it kinda is just that spike representing the entire song. It also happens to be my only FMO AAA .-.
Really nice Battle Theme and Crow's Ghost, guys |

Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
I tried to roll these bursts to no avail. I eventually had to jumptrill everything and separate a few specific ones that seemed more safe to roll. I just feel like something is very wrong with these "bursts".
The first half of this file has nothing particular, on the second half in the 32nd and certain patterns, you can notice that the patterns look odd. It seems like they have to be hit very late to keep up correctly. I had multiple awkwardly ruined runs by these patterns. This file has a mix of many things that people could hate. Multiple one hand trills, it's also very long. The rolls have reckless ending on a jump that may throw some off. There's also a slow down that forces me to tap keys harder to keep some emphasis. It's pretty good to test nerves overall. This file made me laugh because I still can't get under 15 goods without mirror. Probably new "best score" overall. Just wanted to point by commenting why I bothered posting the "easier songs". They're clearly not files I would be comfortable getting back in one try. Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
More improvements!
This one's kind of gross, I could probably knock this down to 2 goods. This one's gross too. The boo is from a really bad habit of mine. And the good wasn't even from the bmah, oddly enough. |

Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
Also for the record, I actually think most bmah files are pretty fun and I don't mean anything bad by "the bmah". Sorry if you found it annoying, bmah.

Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
There's nothing wrong with bmah files, they're just very bmahy
It's like a signature that he doesn't even have to sign, the file usually just presents upfront with its bmahness I spelled out in a Skype conversation with bmah some of the things that make a file bmahy. We had a good chuckle. Well, I did :P

Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
If I had to guess, I would say it's because Mr. Typhlosion doesn't mind being mean to players and throwing an off the wall pattern that's more difficult than the rest of the stepfile.

Re: FFR Scores ~2014 Remix~
#1 attribute is to make sure the song title makes absolutely no fucking sense with ~bonus points for ✰nonsense symbols✰, words Randomly capitalized, or ALL CAPS SONG TITLE~
Sometimes you can tell it's a bmah file before you even hear the song or play the steps (see: SHI✰O✰KA✰RA✰, Tsumeawase Pt. 3, or NEW ANACHRONISM -I can't become the hero anymore-) #2 attribute is always to make sure one part is noticeably harder than the rest of the file. Can be just a single transition, or as much as one third of the file just being completely different from the rest (see: Casino Bmahphone, Music for Kirby) Whatever this part is, that is "the bmah" that makes a bmah file so bmahy. Lots of files have difficulty spikes, but only bmah files have a bmah- it's definitely a question of feel. I have no idea how he does it but the fact that nearly everyone agrees the bmah in a bmah file has a special touch means it's definitely a thing. #3 attribute is that if something repeats but it's closer to the end of the song, give it extra layering for climax effect (see: Necropotence) This is a very bmahy solution to the common problem steppers face of how to deal with repetitive choruses. Most other people either layer different instruments, cut the repetitions, or just copy the same layering (or even the same steps entirely- guilty as charged) which usually winds up being boring. Bmah chooses the climax theory route with EXTRA LAYERS #4 attribute is to use a colorful grace note any time there's a sliding sound, with the corollary being that if there is room for an up/down color trill, ALWAYS put an up/down color trill (see: A FLOWER GARDEN, Flesvelka) EDIT- Ninja'd by bmah himself :P He would know best. I'd definitely also add that bmah uses more jacks than many other steppers, especially jacks in jump transitions. This is less noticeable to me because I also use lots of jacks (lolturbo) but it's definitely also a defining aspect of bmahness.
