Ravemeister vol. 4 (Submissions Open!)
Send all submissions to HakaseShinonome@gmail.com *Many thanks to YOSHl and Silvuh for helping with the pack banner! Here we go again! Hi everyone, and welcome to the fourth installment of the Ravemeister series! You might be wondering "lol 4th installment wat" so allow me to introduce you to how all this started. What is this Ravemeister nonsense !! Ravemeister started out in 2009 as a one-man pack by me - back then I just wanted to share my files with a few people in an old community. Since then the project grew to the people in that community, then to the wonderful folks on over at Dragons_Fury. Here are the links to the first three volumes, if you want to take a looksee - Ravemeister vol. 1 Ravemeister vol. 2 Ravemeister vol. 3 And now, this is the first installment that kicks off here at FFR! So anything else I should know about before I submit? =w= 1. Song choice - As the pack name suggests, techno/trancecore/rave/happy pop/anything else that's energetic or upbeat is preferred. However, we're notorious for making exceptions, so if you're not sure your song will fit in the pack, feel free to ask. 2. Please try to include a banner, background, and cdtitle in your files. If you don't feel like making your own graphics, ask one of our Graphic Artists for help. 3. Multiple difficulties are encouraged but not necessary. The difficulty of the file itself is up to you, although dumpfiles will be considered carefully. 4. If you would like to help out as a Graphic Artist, please let me know! I'd appreciate any and all help. (: We're looking for 35~40 files (which is like double the number of files we had last volume rofl) this time around. Submission deadline is TBA until we get near that number of accepted files, so take your time! ========== Current Submissions *Cutoff for acceptance (rules apply for judge files as well) : average of 7 points or higher per judge. Average of 5 or higher gets the file a spot in the pack, as long as it is resubmitted with fixes. Don't worry, we're lenient. 3 accepted 1 awaiting fixes 0 rejected 1 pending Code:
HIGH POWERED (kjwkjw) (19 - 10/9) Shinonomin' Feeling (kjwkjw) (17 - 9/8) Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C (YOSHl) (23 - 7/9/7) Korobushka (Ryu Star Remix) (Aeterna Imari) (18 - 7/6/5) Zanzibar Green (T-Force) (8/?) Judges kjwkjw T-Force .-. Graphic Artists T-Force YOSHl Happy stepping! *Updated to post #22.

Re: Ravemeister vol. 4 (Submissions Open!)
Submission Reviews
T-Force's Reviews / .-.'s Reviews Code:
Korobushka (Ryu* Remix) - Ryu* (Aeterna Imari) 7/10 - Great song choice, although it gets slightly repetitive towards the end. - The main issue seemed to be ghost notes (on beats 79.50, 85.50, etc.) I think it'd be alright to have some in the denser sections, but check again for the lighter parts of the song. - Similar suggestion - how about having single notes instead of jumps on beats 116.00, 148.00, etc.? - m. 39 ~ 40 - Move the jump from beat 155.00 to 155.50, and take out the jump on beat 160.00. Same thing with m. 55 ~ 56, m. 90~91, and so forth. - Missing notes on m. 63, beat 248.75 and m. 66, beat 262.75? - The song repeats a lot, so it should be fairly easy to pick out which places need fixing. Overall the chart is pretty fun and doesn't have any blatant mistakes - very well done! Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C (YOSHl) 7/10 - .mp3 needs to be louder, which I can help you with if needed. - m. 2 - jump not needed on beat 6.00. - Your jump layering seemed a bit random from m. 10 ~ 25. It's nothing big, but it'd be nice if you could explain. - Fairly simple file; a second difficulty with a few more 16ths to spice things up would've been cool =P Zanzibar Green - The Fat's Sabobah feat. For Great Justice! (T-Force) 8/10 - Jolly good jumpstream! - [Standard] seemed alright. - Having the midsection of [Heavy] be a little bit more dense can't hurt. - [Oni] is [Oni] so I won't pick on it very much but... - The 32nd minijack in m. 70 is a no with all those mines in there rofl - Also I thought there were some jump misrhythms. We can go over them on Skype or something if you're up for that. - There's perhaps a few more things I might've missed but we can Skype chat regarding those as well, so =w=

Re: Ravemeister vol. 4 (Submissions Open!)
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
NOTES AND THINGS: Code:
Korobushka (Ryu* Remix) - Ryu* (Aeterna Imari) Playtest: Seemed pretty solid and fun all around. PR is basic, but it's not prevalent. But who cares? - A couple missed arrows and ghost arrows but that might be just me. Editor: - B.79.50/Sec.28.09, B.85.50/S.32.20, B.95.50/S.39.06, B.101.50/S.43.17, B.299.50/S.115.84, B.305.50/S.119.95. All of these 8ths are ghosts. - B.248.75/S.96.14, B.262.75/S.101.61. There should be a 16th on each of these. Verdict: 6/10 Accepted with fixes. It's a really good chart, but those fixes need to be made in order to make it great. HIGH POWERED - Sphere (kjwkjw) Playtest: Holy crud. Both files were, for lack of a better word, spectacular! Nice mine usage in Oni, and Heavy is a good AAA file while Oni is possible, but is still challenging. Not to mention, fun factor is there. I have nothing else to say. Verdict: 10/10 Accepted! Shinonomin' Feeling - Reourom (kjwkjw) Playtest: Just as I remembered. =') - However, the one beef I had with it is still around. Starting from m.43 all the way until, m.58, there's those small muffled noises you stepped. The only beef I have is when it hits m.51-55, you turn them into mini-holds. Either have them all mini-holds, or none. Consistency, etc. Verdict: 9/10 Accepted. Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C - Hyadain (YOSHl) Playtest: I've already been through this once before, so, like Shinonomin', short and sweet. - Like kjw said, needs a better mp3. Other than that, no issues here. Verdict: 9/10 Accepted. Zanzibar Green - The Fat's Sabobah feat. For Great Justice! (T-Force) Whoops, own file. Verdict: Have none. EDIT: Thank you! <3 Last edited by T-Force; 11-21-2011 at 06:17 PM.. |

Re: Ravemeister vol. 4 (Submissions Open!)
.
hyadain could have more 16ths 1 measure before m2 if you're following the drums in the background ([13][24][34] section) layering at m34-37 should have jumps where it has vocals + bass hit and single notes on the higher background sounds rather than the other way around not sure what hold at m50 is following holds at m56-beginning of 57 seem kinda randomly used on and off would be cooler if you stepped the fall at the end sound quality is rip 7/10 kurobushka start holds in m9 and m13 earlier fill in more of the empty space on 4th notes in m17 should take out the blue note right before m21 (123 pattern) and right before halfway through m22 (432 pattern) if you're not following the rest of the background part as well ghost 16th note in m28 and m36 ghost 8th note halfway through m35 long hold note in m47 should end on the beat right after it starts rhythm starting 1 beat before m60 should be x-xxxxxxx rather than x-x-xxxxx (patterns get a bit repetitive) missing 16th note before 3rd beat of m66 aforementioned issues are present in repeating parts later in the file 5/10 high powered maybe layer in more of the background 16ths in m10-15; bass note hits in m18-24; e-flat b-flat b-flat part in m2 and m4 kinda fun 9/10 shinonomin' feeling sugoi 8/10 Last edited by .-.; 11-24-2011 at 01:22 AM.. Going to work on a few files myself - I'll start writing up notes when we get some more submissions.

Re: Ravemeister vol. 4 (Submissions Open!)
I have a trance song, but it's not exactly the most standard in structure; it's a bit more aggressive. I think it'll fit in this pack. I have to make a pretty decent cut of it though, as it's over 7 minutes long. I can easily chop it down to about 2 and a half, with no issue.
