Everyone here is also saying Squeek is stupid because he doe not like tournament rules.

He is trying to say he is a casual gamer, and you all are saying that you can't have fun unless you wave dash/win every game.
Um no you didn't understand what he said. He said HE DOES NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WAVEDASHING. He has a problem with using it against randoms.

Also, I thought that this thread was for discussing SSBB.
Instead, it turned into a pointless argument bashing Squeek.
Talk about ****ing brawl, not your opinions.

This is an argument. Squeek is a moderator. If he was against this argument he would've locked it already after 3-pages of arguing.

If it's a pointless argument why don't you stop posting and get off Squeek's nuts?

Flaming and arguing are two different things.

All I did was tell you to get off Squeek's nuts, meaning post your opinion, not Squeek's. All you did was quote Squeek and tell us to stop bashing him.

FLAMING: EX: You're a ****in dick you ******

ARGUING: What're you talking about? You don't understand, stop this blah blah etc etc..

Well, I guess it's safe to talk about Brawl now.. I'm planning on getting a Japanese Wii with Brawl. Does anyone think I should just get a Wii, mod it and then get Japanese Brawl? --- or just buy a Japanese Wii with Japanese Brawl? o_0

Yeah, that's true, but if I get the Japanese Wii I can't play American games, right?

Nope I don't think so. Just resell it. All I had to do is chip in 20 bucks to play until the american version came out. So I don't have to worry about any of that. It cost us about 500 dollars all together though

Lighten up, people. And stop back-and-forthing.

Jeez.

The analogy of the gun at a fist-fight is my entire point. I'd suggest you read it, because if you don't get that, then you won't understand where I'm coming from.

My retort (Normally) to that would be simply that it generates a whole field advantage for someone who can use it effectively. Now hear me out, what I just said proves a your point. It creates that competitive edge, but that competitive edge is just as effective as an "Outsiders" fight. If someone brings a gun to a fist fight, obviously the person with the gun has the same objective as everyone else with fists but the man holding the gun is the one with the advantage. Now... everyone could bring a gun but then its no longer a fist fight, it becomes a "who can use their advantage better than the other" which totally totally ruins the initial premise of the game.
Super Smash Brothers, to me, is a game of who can utilize every aspect of the game to the fullest. You choose to ignore items and exploit glitches. I choose to ignore glitches and utilize items. The reason I feel like my playstyle is more relevant to the style of the game is because I'm playing within the bounds of the original concept of the game. My playstyle can work against anyone (well, anyone who decides items are actually fun and leaves them in) and I will be able to win about 90% of the time. Your playstyle can work against anyone (well, anyone who doesn't complain that what you're doing is cheating, which is about 90% of the people who've never seen wavedashing before) and you'll be able to win 90% of the time.

That's the difference. If you got some random person who has played Melee and never seen a competitive match and set them against you and I in separate matches, they're more likely to complain about the result of your match rather than the result of mine.

I understood that. I admitted it gives the person who knows how to do it an advantage. It allows them to do certain things like wave dash onto the edge to edge guard.

Knowing that, you don't think it is fair against the person ignorant of it.

Don't you think that if that opponent cared enough he would go learn how, to keep up his game? If he didn't care all that much about someone doing something he can't when he sees its an obvious advantage then he obviously doesn't care a whole lot about winning. So the winner wins and the loser loses. Both have fun, so its a win/win situation.

No disrespect, but you never post any facts. All you do it make up analogies that make no sense and show us your opinion. If there's no facts in an argument what's the point? No offense, but there's no reason to go on anymore; we proved our point and would like to discuss Brawl now.

So, where is the fun? Honestly, you said your friends taught you how to wavedash, but if it's just a random person, are you seriously going to stop and show them how to compete if they ask, or are you just going to keep "pwning noobs"? Remember, friends does not equal random people you meet online or at another place besides your homes.
