Basic example (not sure if the math is right, I'm tired right now). The negative bpm happens right before the beat, and warps it to a mine. It's a pretty cool illusion, and it works really well with abrupt sounds such as that one. You can use it for a lot of different things... throw in stops and it gets even more interesting.

i could understand how that would be cool if it was a pad file, but this is keyboard, and unless it was significantly riddled with warp points into mines, then the whole challenge aspect of that wouldn't retain itself after a person played it once (because they would remember the warp point).

It's still a cool idea, and I might consider it for maybe an alternate sim (or redoing this sim in a different light altogether).

It's more of an aesthetic really. While making a stepfile significantly riddled with jacks, warp mines, whatever, might be incredibly challenging, a lot of people would agree it doesn't make a good stepfile. It's all dependant on what your goal is. NVLM for example- rather ****ty files imo, but his goal (I assume) is to make difficult brag files. The tips I gave were more towards helping to make a balanced file that represents the music in a substantial way. My best advice is to make stuff that you yourself have fun playing. Hopefully other people will find it fun too.
