Meh, never played wind waker, but I loved Ocarina nad Majora's Mask. Just wondering, does wind waker have an uber-hard area like the water temple in ocarina?

I loved the Wind Waker before it came out. I knew it was going to be an amazing game with 3d cel graphic sysem to put an interesting twist on a long series of games, and I knew the creator of this concept was no fool. I also knew that the people, us, WERE fools and that everyone would hate it without giving it a fair chance.

However, I was not one of those people, because I had played Jet Grind Radio and knew the 3d cel would work great.

Its an awesome game.

Cel Shading sometimes works. An example of Cel Shading done right is XIII (which, unfortunately due to an unforgiving difficulty and sloppy controls, sucked on console). But if you're gonna give the game kudos for anything, the Cel Shading was amazingly well done.

Wind Waker is an example of Cel Shading done wrong. It's extremely childish and bland, doesn't provide any sort of texture or detail or any kind, and gives the framerate an excuse to suck. Beyond that, Zelda is a fairly serious series...it's not the kind of game you'd expect to have kiddy Cel Shading. No, Zelda should have stayed gritty and realistic, just like Ocarina and Majora.

I have to say I agree with you, on some points. I think Wind Waker was just trying something new by changing the style of visuals, and there's nothing wrong with that other than some people liked it and some people didnt. Getting past the cel shading, I found the gameplay quite fun, especially the combat, which had depth to it rather than mashing the b button. Now you can plan out which attacks and combos to use when facing multiple enemies, and better, you can throw big swords at them . Overall, it's a great Zelda game at heart.

Oh, and can Majora really be described as gritty and realistic? It's another great Zelda game, but the whole alternate universe thing was kinda $&@!ed up. But just like Wind Waker, Majora turned out to be another great Zelda game at heart.

I don't care about the gameplay as long as you can throw big swords at the enemies I think Wind Waker is a pretty good game(as I think I have said before). The graphics I got used to, and the gameplay is awesome. The final battle with Ganondorf pwns though.

Yeah, the one thing I hated about Ocarina was how friggedy easy Gannon(dorf) was. I mean, he's the final boss, for chrissakes! You should not be able to beat the final boss on your first go without even a challenge. Hell, bosses like Bongo Bongo were harder by far...

It wasnt hard, but it sure as hell was a cinematic battle. Loved the glowing eyes and how you caught only a glimpse of his face in the flash of lightning...

Wind waker is a great game, and it has a whole lot of extra tasks that you can do. I personally liked it alot, adn I still play it every day, for 2 months.

Forest Haven is in quadrant F6, which is the 5th island to the right, and the Fifth island down, if your coming from Dragon Roost Island(F2) just head South.

Well, Where are You? and if you have the warp song, you can warp there directly. Also if you don't have fire and ice arrows, you can get them by warping to Mother and child islands. Another thing you need is iron boots, which is at ice ring isle, at E6. and when you do find forest haven, maker is under the waterfall when your going towards the entrance to the deku tree.
