Just saw it 4 hours ago. I personally liked the first better.

In terms of plot, it was good. Okay, so the new characters aren't exactly original. That was a slight gripe of mine. What was really interesting was the last 15 minutes. Oh my. That made the plot on par with Curse of the Black Pearl.

Depp played his character nicely. He was still comical, but unfortunately not as witty as in CotBP.

The soundtrack was awesome, definitely better than CotBP's by a mile (some of the music WAS from the first, though).

I loved the CG. It was awesome. `Nuff said there.

The fighting wasn't all that good compared to CotBP. One of the few swordfights was pretty interesting but I personally liked the ones in the first. Naval battles were a bit lacking. None of them were really ship-on-ship action, which I would of loved to see some of. Still, if you want good action, I prefer CotBP because Dead Man's Chest's action wasn't as good.

So yes, this movie is worth watching, especially if you're a fan of the first. No, it's not better than CotBP.

They say in a trilogy that the middle is always the worst. Hopefully this stays true for Pirates of the Carribean =/

Excellent film, loved the twist at the end.

Did anyone else notice the lack of "savvy" in the movie? I think it's said once during the whole film.

All of the music from the 2nd is from the first. I bought the soundtrack and it's all the same except they use a new main tune theme in the 2nd one.

Hmmm? Well I didn't listen to the actual soundtrack, but didn't Davy Jones (haha not much of a spoiler) have a theme, such as the organ music and all of that? Maybe it all just sounded the same >__>

Trust me on this. THe first pirate had a certain theme but then this one used a tune from the first pirate that wasnt as played as much for its theme. so basically when i watched the 2nd i was like o yay theres gonna be some cool music but it was from the first soundtrack ( i listened to it like 20 times when i was in Hawaii due to boredom ) . Basically a song that wasnt played as much in the first one was used as the seconds theme. the organ music was used a little too but i wouldnt consider it to be the "theme" of the movie

the extra seen at the end of the credits isnt even worth it.
It just goes back and shows you what happened to the dog.

Oh and theyre making a 3rd, and a 4th, for those of you who didnt know

Alright, The humor was good, although the gore-factor went up in this one.

You can't match the music of the first though. The first had a complete and perfect soundtrack, and being the theme of the movie, they are unable to really sway the music, so they just did variations.

It was a nice movie, and I didn't have any trouble with the cliffhanger. They always do this. Examples:
Star Wars Ep4, Matrix, Pirates of the Carribbean.
Each one of these, they made 1 of a kind, Then found that it was just a hit, that they wanted to make a trilogy, and so make the 2nd and 3rd with one based off the other.

I just came back from seeing it with a friend of mine who has already watched it twice.

It was funny =) I really enjoyed laughing at Johnny. He's great.

At the end i think i was the only one who went "WHAT?!?!".

Can't wait for the third movie.
Although the 1st one was better =/

the game was a bit confusing and they didnt explain but I think i understand the game. each player has five dice that they shake around and put in a cup (15 dice total) . From there, they place their wagers and the first person reveals his dice. Then something happens from there and they trie to guess the number of dice that will come up with the same number like five. so when they say " seven five's" they are predicting that there will be a total of 7 , 5's when the cups are revealed.
That is my theory on what the game is
Im Prolly wrong as heck.
But Wtevr.

I particularly enjoyed the three man free-for-all sword fighting towards the end of the movie.

I have nothing else to say.

the pirates dice game goes like this

you each roll your five dice, but keep their values hidden from the other players. You then guess how many of a certain value are on the table. If you "overbid" so to speak and someone calls you a liar, you lose. If you call someone a liar when they arent lying, you lose. For the wagering, you must bid at least however many the prvious person bid. So if they say 3 fives, your bid must be at least 4 of something.
