Using 1x does not keep you "pure", it is simply a default, the setting that is first used when playing. Using default settings, for anything really, does not keep you pure, it just means you actually prefer them over other settings implemented that were MEANT for people to use. You say using the default 1x makes the game harder; sure it does. Becausen no one uses it. What if there weren't any other speed mods? Everyone would use 1x, thus making it easy to read because everyone would play with it. If that were true, it would make higher mods and cmods look hard, which are what the majority of the people play with now.

And my rant is complete. Excuse me, I have a dinner appointment at Baker's Square.

ps 1x isn't cheating, nor is using speed mods. It's how you play the game. That's like telling someone that plays FPS's they can't play with a different crosshair size or screen resolution.

Yea but do those things REALLY offer an advantage for the player? Speed mods significantly increase the chances of success in FFR.

See I guess I can buy all this stuff about how they're there for a reason (to be used). I just am having a hard time thinking about how SO MANY people use them. I would think there'd be more non speed-modders.
