Howdy folks, I wanna make sure that my thoughts regarding star-crossed get across. It's been the main thing swirling around in my mind so I want to make sure I get those thoughts out before I respond to other things in the thread.

I think the reason I was initially "confused" was because the initial interpretation I had regarding "creating information" was exactly what you describe here, but I thought "that can't possibly be it, that simply amounts to just playing the game". I did have some time to think what else could be meant by "create information" aside from things that basically amount to "playing the game". I think the answer I would have liked better would be something like playing a more "aggressive townie" game. This can work well in the case that the insights are good, although in a game with so little information that could be considered "ground truth", a game full of just observers might not cut it. There needs to be folks that ask other players questions, poke and prod other players, since such tactics are more likely to give more information and insight.

I will say that when I initially read your post (#43), the vibes were off. Unfortunately, the vibes haven't gotten much better. I can't remember what your usual gameplay is like (e.g. is it typical for you to make such serious, in-depth posts so early on d0?), but regardless, the post is giving "I'm gonna try to appear helpful to get townie points" but looking closely at the post, I would say that the vast majority of it is fluff that isn't particularly helpful (at least to me).

From previous games (forever ago), I remember I'll sometimes have tunnel vision anytime a particular post rubs me the wrong way. I'll need to look more closely at star-crossed's other posts to try to get a better sense of where I stand on this. But I want to make sure I have a record of these feelings before I forget.

I was kinda half-joking regarding forgetting how to play. At the very least, I understand the basics regarding mechanics and such. Of course, I've likely gotten rusty in terms of how to best go about finding wolves and building a mental model of the relationships in the game and stuff, but I think those skills are probably best gained and sharpened by simply playing more of the game and observing the strategies and approaches of others.

In some previous games, I had a bad habit of sometimes going inactive, which people would use as a reason to vote me, then I'd try to defend myself right before EoD, and it would cause a big mess. Trying to prevent that from happening again 😅 I'm hoping the novelty of having not played a game for a while will last me long enough to stay motivated and to be decently active throughout the entire game.

I was thinking similar thoughts before I came across your post here, so I'm glad it's also on your mind too. It's been so long that it would be difficult for me to precisely remember how people have played previously. However, even if I somehow had perfect memory, people change and adapt over time, so some of those memories could, at worst, lead me astray.

Last game however recent it was, like a bit less than a month ago
Before that, genuinely no clue, I guess it was that turbo haku was talking about, but that feels like it was 2 years ago

It is very true to say I took all my energy/motivation for twg and put it into scrabble about 2 to 3 years ago

But before I do that, I think this looks like an extremely forced post to talk about alignment, plus the "I got called out for this before". I don't think either of them play any differently than I've seen before, and bugkid wasn't responding to anyone when making this post. It's just kind of there. They say they've been sussed out for alignment before, but the question here is "why are you doing it right at this particular moment". I would expect they're just putting their immediate thought on the thread, which is fine, but it feels weirdly strategic to do it exactly then

But then again like they said it's d0 and this gut feeling will soon not matter at all, probably, possibly, especially if the post comes across as genuinely trying to be helpful early on in retrospect

It might be hypocritical coming from me, but I really don't like this. Not everyone plays the same way. You have to figure out how bugkid plays instead of how you wish they did.
