i see a haku v star crossed, but ya know they are/have been the biggest chatters so far
they probably just bouncing off each other. plus star had a good lean for haku on i think page 3

I liked where you went after, or rather, the energy of it

it is just philosophy, like I can counter that villagers are a lot worse than people would think they are at finding wolves in a random set (I know it isn't a random set), but I do not share your optimism on town's chances simply upon the nature of the setup alone


For example, town won last game entirely because of mechanics, both because town used them very well and because wolves used them very poorly (sry raeko I know u were busy when lar fruited me)

obviously only time will tell, and to answer your question more directly, no, it isn't a dangerous line of thought now that I see what you were cooking (I guess I can be wrong but that's me being a weenie)

star / sunfan interactions feel t/t to me. star going extremely hard out the gate feels typical to me but the focus on mechanics could be slightly out of character. could be copium because i've gotten called out for focusing on mechanics d0 before lol

I don't know if the way that it did felt the most natural from star/haku in a quick read, but the switch is generally positive for town so /shrug
I'll probably have to re-read this again when I'm not feeling as brain-foggy

also feeling like a complete reset on personality reads (or at least a solid period of re-calibrating) is needed here given I haven't played in years and don't know how y'all have changed

If I did the math right, the wolf team wins by having 4 out of the 10 town players be voted off. The town team win by voting out 3 wolves and preventing 4 town players being voted out.

I think that town having no secrets has the potential to make the fundamental secret of who knows who the wolves are already, easier to uncover. Everyone is going to have a more similar frame of reference than usual and town can be more open with each other without incurring the usual risks. Will we see radical honesty transform TWG? I suspect that the standard of posting that wolves have to be consistently capable of to actually be trusted in this one should be higher.

It depends partly on how the randomisation exactly fell, but the ten names not on the wolf team should still be a fairly intimidating list regardless. How many town names do they already fear cannot be one of their four to win?

I think town can make this a hard game to be a wolf in, especially for the later days when process of elimination is powerful. That comes down to things like creating information, to pressure, to commitment. Whatever can be done to not make it easy for them to get their 4 to win.

Statistically speaking, at some stage, it will look like the town are thinking and talking about all the wrong things. At those times, it will feel like it is a good game to be a wolf in. Wolves will be able to look smart and look like they are helping, by telling those unfortunate townies who don't already have the answers why they are probably wrong about what they are wrong about. With hindsight, with process of elimination, I think the good times can actually come back to haunt them in the end.

I thought this post felt hollow when I first read it, but coming back to it makes me like it more. I think I can see a stream of consciousness here where before it just seemed contrived

@star, how can town be "radically honest" with each other?
also, why would wolves "tell those unfortunate townies who don't already have the answers why they are probably wrong about what they are wrong about" instead of helping them double down on their mistakes, and what makes that in any way different than a regular game?

I think star and haku are both just like that, haku can spin a read out of thin air and star likes to get down to business so it's not very alignment indicative to me since it's how I would expect them each to play /personality read that may or may not be outdated

I agree about haku but I used to generally be able to get a decent read on him in iso by mid D1 or so, so I'm not rushing that read. and star likes to get down to business, sure, but the abruptness still felt weird in the middle of a conversation about ice cream floats. star used to freeze as wolf and I don't know how that's developed so one developmental path I considered would be the overcompensating by diving in about "game talk" even if there weren't much to dive into

was that your first float? surprised you went for sprite. what flavor ice cream did you use? I feel like a sprite float would have to be vanilla or strawberry or something fruity/minty.

nothing really beats a root beer float imo, except for maaaybe a good orange cream soda poured over vanilla ice cream to make a kind of creamsicle float

I don't like root beer and I'd never really heard of any other kind of float before (other than the melon soda floats from anime) so yes!! I had the chocolate ice cream/coke float and the vanilla/sprite float was roundbox's

But I've also been wrong on bugkid literally every single game we've played, so... maybe it's time to look inward.

But before I do that, I think this looks like an extremely forced post to talk about alignment, plus the "I got called out for this before". I don't think either of them play any differently than I've seen before, and bugkid wasn't responding to anyone when making this post. It's just kind of there. They say they've been sussed out for alignment before, but the question here is "why are you doing it right at this particular moment". I would expect they're just putting their immediate thought on the thread, which is fine, but it feels weirdly strategic to do it exactly then

But then again like they said it's d0 and this gut feeling will soon not matter at all, probably, possibly, especially if the post comes across as genuinely trying to be helpful early on in retrospect
