Best PARTS of a Level?
I'm curious if there are particular parts, section, or even like a one-beat flourish that any of you particularly love from all of the songs you guys have ever played.
Obviously, because we're only looking at one particular bit, it's possible it could be a level you don't like overall, but the one part within it is awesome. It doesn't have to be a pattern from a level you really like as a whole. I'll be bumping this from time to time in the future for some exposure to collect opinions from various people. I'll list some of my favorites that first came to mind. There are TONS of other really great examples from tons of artists, these are simply the first ones I could think of at the moment: - TORCH (CosmoVibe) [idk which pack]: m13 - Relation Again (CosmoVibe): solo section at m35-49 - Drove Though Ghosts to Get Here (CosmoVibe) [Dark Chancellors]: climax section at m64-96 - Imbo (Kil) [FFRCP4]: solo section at m68-end - Madness (Kil): this pattern at m17 - Troubadour's Reminiscence (Kil) [SMG2]: last measure - Carpet Muncher (cetaka) [ODI]: m68 - Toki (moches) [ODI3]: ending riff from m66-end

The right 8ths to 12ths to 8ths jack near the end of Overworld (a Savant's song), can't rebember in which pack right now but surely others know.

Re: Best PARTS of a Level?
The back half of both charts I've written for Venetian Snares' Contain — the old one that was in one of the FFRCPs has a nice artistic flare with staccato mine usage and color gimmicks, and the newer one (for the osu!mania world cup) actually works nicely with a growing "phased" difficulty where the intensity just noticeably increases until it's unbearably hard even for some of the best players in the game.
Also: micro media broth's chiptune solo is god-tier, change my mind |
