![]() thgis bread is a pretty good sourdough. i like the everything-bagel topping on the one thats cut up, but the pockets and ears of the bread on the left are pretty aesthetically pleasing

fduck yeah whenever i decide to go ouyt too breakfast with family i gotta get over easy eggs with some chicken fried steak and sourdough toast becuase imo that's the only bread that over easy eggs belongs on

This is also a great piece of sourdough. My favorite sourdough is actually olive parmesan sourdough, but a nice simple thick-crusted loaf like the one pictured here is also pretty great. The extra flour on the crust just adds to the richness of the flavor and the depth of your enjoyment of it.
One thing to note here is that, as with any good sourdough, the crust has to be slightly firm to give a good crumch, but should be supple enough to dip, absorb oil, and bite into without wounding your mouth. The meat of the bread -the inside, so to speak- should be fluffy, almost airy in its softness. Finally, as with any bread, it's important to remember to use a serrated bread knife. Don't be one of those fools, those clowns who just grab the nearest knife, usually unserrated, and start slicing uselessly at the crust. Use a bread knife, or don't use a knife at all. ![]()
