tl;dr there's far more evidence for it being cheated than not cheated at this point, namely that a LOT of his other best ITG scores have been outright proven as cheated like his I Love LSD quad (for which the video has been exposed as being autoplay while being carefully edited to not show any of the obvious signs)

the big problem is that any time someone tries to bring this up, a bunch of dickriders immediately come out saying "OH MY GOD WHO CARES?! THIS GAME IS DECADES OLD LOL IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT WAS CHEATED GET A LIFE"

annoyingly, these same people who immediately cry "hurrdurr game is old now so it doesn't matter if it's cheated!!" will whine shit like "why don't more gaming communities/events consider ITG to be a real competitive scene?". Imagine if the overarching reaction to Billy Mitchell getting exposed was "OMG DONKEY KONG IS 40 YEARS OLD, ONLY KISSLESS VIRGINS CARE ABOUT PEOPLE CHEATING A GAME THAT OLD"

But we should be clear here, the majority of his ITG scores are probably still legit and I think it's safe to say than 100% of his Pump scores are legit considering Andamiro would ban his ass if they weren't

Hmm thats actually really interesting. Is there like a google doc or twitter thread talking about this? Im looking at his I Love LSD quad video right now and it doesnt appear to have any brigade of negative comments or mass dislikes that any other cheated score would have.

There was a Google Doc at some point IIRC, but I can't find it for the life of me, so here's a collection of screenshots from Stamina Nation explaining the evidence of why it's faked, also containing some comments explaining why the culture around discussing this is so goddamn toxic.

I've isolated the two most relevant quotes here

Okay here's what happened:

-Zetorux and I looked into the score a few years ago, and we noticed that the video used AutoplayCPU because the hold targets didn't illuminate
-Seth said that he lost the video of the screencam but stated the score was still legit

In other words, Seth basically admit the I Love LSD video was faked, but only YEARS after passing it off as legitimate. He then claimed that the score was real, but he made the fake video because he lost the real footage.

There's no further development after that, so you have to decide for yourself whether you think it's more likely that it's a fake score, or that he actually got the quad and only made a fake video that he passed off as real for several years (only made possible by how he edited the footage to hide obvious giveaways) because he lost the actual footage.

In some of his videos, there's stuff that doesn't quite sit right for some people. He's had a few people call out what they believe to be direct evidence of cheating, but in the two cases I saw of that, there was immediate bullying of the people who raised it, so they withdrew. It was pretty upsetting, to be honest. There were also some good faith arguments made that the evidence provided was flawed.

He's an incredible player, regardless. Provably one of the best when he played. But I think a few people prefer to avoid crediting his most extraordinary claims, because of the things that don't quite track.

This covers your bit about the video lacking "any brigade of negative comments or mass dislikes that any other cheated score would have" (which isn't true, btw - look at Izzy's fake AAAAAs from 2007 which are widely accepted as cheated/faked by the community while the general public largely remains unaware). Any time someone tried to make any sort of accusation against one of Seth's score, DOZENS of people would immediately reply with shit akin to "OH MY GOD WHO CARES?! THIS GAME IS DECADES OLD LOL IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT WAS CHEATED GET A LIFE" even when evidence was provided.

It's utterly ridiculous that this was and still is the culture, and I still see dismissive shit like this to this day whenever this topic is brought up on Facebook so it's wholly unsurprising that people don't want to argue what they believe. I genuinely cannot think of any other game for which the culture is to insult anyone trying to uphold integrity/legitimacy of scores, and this is 10000000% why it's hard to find these arguments years after the fact.

But, like I said before, Seth was undeniably one of the best players of his time and probably 99% of his ITG scores were legit. It's just a few scores that people have called into question.

For the sake of posterity I'd like to point out that this person is not me. Also that I called out these nonsense scores pretty much as soon as they happened and nobody cared or were in denial.
