Actually, now that I think about, I did get a few things for Christmas:
-Left 4 Dead 2 for free before Steam servers got overloaded -Skype premium for 2 years before the offer got taken down -Fueling my sadism by watching ungrateful teenagers whining about their presents ![]()

A new gaming computer that costed between 700-800 dollars.
New keyboard (CM Storm Quickfire Pro, brown switches). That's pretty much all I got.

$200 (using it for Anime North 2014)
$10 gift card to Starbucks (might spoil myself with a venti for once) This shirt was unexpected but I always love new t-shirts It's been over a year since I've been able to fit in a size small shirt. It feels good that some ITG paid off!![]()

30 bucks (which I ended up using for gas).
I ended up spending over $1,000 bucks buying stuff for families and friends. I even cooked over 100 pounds of shrimp fried rice (with the help of my girlfriend) to feed the homeless people around town. I have never seen so many happy faces in my life. I really felt like we made a difference today. This was the best Christmas in the world. I could not ask for more.

Christmas feels a little odd to me every year because of
1) people talking about what they get and I am surprised every time by how much money is put into it every time (seriously I cannot fathom how one can receive $100+ from their parents just because it's Christmas; it's not like there's something speficic about YOU that correlates to Christmas, etc.); 2) people being pissed about not getting something ridiculously expensive (see the collection of tweets above). Christmas is about the family getting together, having a fun time, good food and playing games. I understand why the gift thing exists, but yeah, I can only imagine it when it's just the small or personal things. I will never understand why parents buy their kids consoles, expensive phones, or simply give them a lot of cash. You didn't earn these things whatsoever. If my parents would try and give me some expensive present for Christmas, it would feel as though I am leeching off of them with their consent, lol. I wouldn't even want it. Anyway, Merry Christmas!

Knew about 90% of my gifts this year. No big surprises. I'm more happy to be with my family at the moment.
6 CDs, 1 live stand-up comedy show DVD, 2 books, 220$ in cash, when my brother screamed at me "No freaking way!" when he received that Secret of Mana cartridge, seeing my sister smile again after a drop of blood pressure yesterday.

A dollar store agenda book
woohoo~ \o/ -.- edit: I mean what the fuck am I going to do with this? I don't even need it, I'm tempted to toss it because it's just useless clutter You guys are probably thinking I got other things too, nope. Just a $1 Agenda I wont be able to use. I guess the thought counts. Last edited by Pseudo Enigma; 12-25-2013 at 02:52 PM.. |
