Perhaps someone should try and make some sprites for some characters.
Because right now it's hard to see who's who and differentiate people,
due to there being a lot of characters.

Maybe something basic like this:

What do you think?

I don't see you trying to flip fat stacks of bread into gold in your inventory anywhere. Only carrying blacksmiths ingredients lol.

He might be intending to sell that dagger and hammer to me, since I tried to buy them earlier.

Also, there should be flour in the specialty shop. Try looking again. At least, I do believe they sell bread.

No, I'd rather post the events that happen for each day in a new post. It's easier to see how everything will look before I post since I'll be posting the story in this thread anyway. ^.^

It might be a nice idea, but I would like to have everyone choose or make their own design for their character. I could post a picture of each person before I talk about them; what does everyone else think of this idea? I have mixed feelings about this idea because while it might be cool to have a picture of each character, this is a story-based RPG, and I can always describe how each character looks by typing their appearances.

You should request some poison, so I can make a poison tipped broadsword.

Well, having a picture like that makes sure you always have a general idea of how the character looks. In text that is not always the case, not to mention you don't always know when it is relevant how someone looks. You would also have more time to spend on writing situations, instead of appearances. The former is what makes a game like this interesting, so doing that might really be a good idea.

The RPG-maker character creator that I am using is already decently powerful.
If you have photoshop skills also, you have limitless creative possibilities. It might also add to have pictures for certain npc's. The shopkeeper and barkeeper come to mind.

If people want, maybe they can procure the program themselves and send in a sprite they'd like to use?

I think it would just be better to stick to words in the country of letters. It's written like a book and is done so beautifully. There is no place in the adventure to actually use the sprites and with permanent death lurking over us if we're not careful, it can put that hard work over sprites at a waste.

Not at all. :P The only way to get these effects is by either finding another town in another region, or finding magical rings.

*edit* There's a slight bonus with drinking beer too, but since the accuracy is lowered, I'm not sure if it's worth drinking on a regular basis. ^.^
