There's only 37 users currently that say they're in Latvia. Maybe make people select one before registering but have the default choices lead to a permaban. That's all I can think of.

As a temporary solution, I think restricting Latvia's traffic is understandable. At least to figure the exact source of the slow downs.

Fair enough. I was just trying to brainstorm other solutions to not have to resort to that.

Also, the site appears to be functioning normally again. Guess it's subsided for now.

EDIT: I suppose it isn't all the way back to normal, but it is much better.
