The way I see it, from a consistency standpoint, Walk on Water IS more difficult than Touch Me. It's obviously faster, and the the majority of the song feels like (excuse my terminology) bursts of jumpstream (idk how else to describe it lol) as to Touch Me which is made up of mostly simple beats and patterns.
On the other hand, I feel Touch Me is more difficult when it comes to trying to AAA. Those 32nd bursts and mini-jacks can make for annoying transitions to players who aren't as adept in those areas, and can really trip up a good run if you're not careful. Walk on Water does have some fairly quick sections, but they're a little smoother to transition in and out of, and since you're already moving your fingers fairly quickly, they're not as sudden. What's probably happening here is that most of the D4 players have the skill to handle the consistent difficulty of Walk on Water without much of a second thought, and since there's no extreme variation in difficulty throughout the song, there isn't any certain pattern to mess up on. If you can't handle the consistent difficulty of the song... well, you're gonna have a bad time. Thus, the variation in high/low scores. I think the difficulty is justified to be higher, but not that much higher (maybe a 57 perhaps). Either way, I expect a low SDG cutoff (probably 4-0-0-0 ish) stretching to scores in the 20 good area. Then again, who am I to say that, I don't know anything about this game. |

See, now that is an explanation that I can respect and understand. Thank you for wording it properly, Salitz.
This is actually a common problem in higher divisions, where a bursty file can be rated lower than a file consisting entirely of high speed 16th jumpstream, but players will do better on the latter because it is more simplistic in structure. |

yeah I couldn't AAA the 32nd blips in Touch Me to save my life. Never bothered trying to warm up, but I didn't even need to warm up to AAA Walk on Water.

good stuff salitz.
touch me had the rolls which where the bursty parts. needed a tad more luck with them. Walk on water is denser, but I have no problem reading it. it must be a song like reality. so so dense until you can do it then it's not as bad (i know, i'm talking about reality)

I'm going to have to agree with the majority here in that Walk on Water is not more difficult than the previous round's song. As mentioned earlier, jacks seem to present a slightly greater challenge for most people, hence Touch Me is probably slightly more difficult. And if not that, the 32nds seem to be the general consensus of being the most difficult parts of that song. Despite the two songs requiring different skill sets, I wouldn't exceed Walk on Water's difficulty past 55 (i.e. same diff as Touch Me).
Regardless, I think D4 is getting excellent songs/charts so far. |

![]() Slowly improving, but goodness, those bursts are somewhat awkward to hit. But I'm prevailing and showing the chart who's boss! |

This took me 74 attempts total (about half probably ended in the first 100 notes because of laziness) as opposed to 2 for Touch Me

I probably should have followed this thread, but seeing as it's already over 70 pages, I'm just going to go ahead and ask a question I figure has been asked.
How does D7 work? Is it no eliminations and just overall best cumulative score? Or will there be eliminations in the rounds to come? -o24

Despite getting the same score as touch me, for my setup, walk on water is significantly harder for me.

Meh, good luck to everyone in D6. With the amount of skill people are using, i'll surely be eliminated at this rate. Really tired of seeing bursts and rolls in round 2 of every official I ever friggin join.
