This is where I have a belief in Jehovah's Word, that Armegeddon actually IS coming. And so I have no problem saying that America wont fall to any country. Because it will fall that the same time that all other countries are falling.

China will most definitely become a world power in the near future.
America will not last forever, nothing lasts forever. I love America, I serve in the Military, but to believe that this nation will last forever is pretty niave.

Inevitably, the United States will lose their economic dominance over the world. Probably before my life is over. China and Japan will gain this. With economic power comes political and military power of course.

For some reason, I dont see Japan becoming the next economic super power. Yeah, they dominate in electronics, but so does Korea. And most of the Japanese "imports" are assembled in America or Australia. Japan is to dependent on imports, lackign the one thing that any nation needs to become an economic superpower: natural resources.

Cenright, me and you have the same beliefs, but its not my job to ruin this thread by sharing my religious beliefs, starting some big off-topic argument resulting in locking this thread, so this time I'll think like a non-believer.
I think that a few countries will try to overtake us, causing some type of World War III. Then, we probably will fall because we aint got our shit together enough to be trying to helping people overseas when we still need to help the people here. These are my personal opinions, so dont try to argue about my beliefs because you are only going to look like a jackass arguing with someone and I'm still gonna believe the same thing, because it always happens.

I think that I shall just use an example of our current situation with oil... Aherm...
Oil prices are going up, and from an economic standpoint, many analysts don't really see the prices dropping at all... And with the way things are going, they will just continue to rise over time... As time passes by, and oil being the scarce resource that it is, we will then have to switch over to other forms of fuel... Those others being electric cars... If electri cars were to begin being used as a MAJOR form of transportation, and oil will begiun to become a thing of the past, government will then have to tax people differently... How will we be taxed differently? A rise in oil taxes for one, and then a rise in electric taxes and such, and THEN the governemt has thought about charging not only on electric bills and the works, but a tax according to how many miles we drive... I've only barely begun to touch on the subject... Think about it...

If you go to Japan and drive around and see a lot of different parts of the country, you will see that it just can't become a huge, huge world power. Just by looking at the houses and observing their daily habits and things like that, it is in my opinion that Japan just can't go much higher on the world scale.
And to be honest, Japan isn't really high tech. It's really low tech actually. Japan just has a lot of things that make life easier, and more comfortable. For example, the majority of houses have toilets with bidets or whatever. You know, the things that squirt water on your butt or whatever. On the contrary, most Japanese houses do not have dryers. They all hang their clothes out to dry, even in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka and Nagoya. Just because they have awesome cell phones and it takes a long time for their games to get to other countries doesn't make them high tech. As far as America goes, it's going to be #1 until a new envy of the world pops up. Or Yellowstone erupts. Or whatever. I'll be dead before America goes under.

They know how to convert cars to natural gas. They were doing it in the 60's even. The reason it hasn't gotten big, is because the Oil companies have money in the government bureaucracies. Oil is no problem at all. There are already things that could take over, AND natural gas is a renewable resource and is CLEAN BURNING. What more could you ask for? Instead of looking for solution, people scream "CRISIS!!!!" so and the oil companies make more money. The only crisis there is, is finding a way to get people to see that there is no crisis. The oil companies are loving it. |

Yes, ofcourse, to all your responses. Yes we could go into a civil war depopulating and destroying ourselves, Yes we could go into a war with North Korea, China, Britian(not likely), Canada, ect......
But, What about those of religous beliefs? It is said that one day the lord will shake the earth greatly and send forth the return of the messiah to send his message. Known as the great and terrible day of the lord. The day when earth is in it's final war. There are many things that could already be a sign of this war such as us and Iraq, North Korea, and many other places. If this continues could it trigger a World War III? As the age of man comes crashing down. But then who says it will. It is only a possibility. But if it did, that doesn't nessicarely mean it is the last war of our time? All things end. After they end. A new becomes the beginning. Also, I have been reading some things about the apocalypse and how it gives some sort of clues in the Roman Catholic Bible. But, that is for another thread i suppose. But if your interested in things like that or Nostradamus and his prediction of 9/11. Then talk to me on my AIM screen name: DJ2570 |
