The more I judge of this batch the more I feel like you people forgot you're allowed to step files under 4 minutes long.
Also on that note I feel bad for any of you kids that still play FFR 'cause you got a lot of shit coming your way have fun. P.s. this is the worst batch I've judged. By far holy shit Last edited by Niala; 09-22-2012 at 12:59 AM.. |

are we using the adjusted bell curve to draw the line of acceptance this batch? Since this batch is sounding .. mediocre .. will that make a more lenient acceptance score requirement than previous batches of a higher quality?

I don't think we should settle for anything less than fantastic. People can take the time to fix their files.

this isn't school where a certain % of things get passed and whatnot if your file was exceptionally shitty then it'll be rejected if your file was mediocre it'll still be rejected if anything you should be happy that the batch was mediocre since adjusted scores for certain judges would be lower and thus your chance of getting a file in is higher as a result cause iirc you submitted a file solely because you want the simfile author title also if the batch is sounding mediocre you probably shouldnt get your hopes up too much because well, if songs are mediocre or boring they should be rejected i hope to see [-]s flying everywhere soon :twis ted: |

that's a little subjective, but the steps of a song greatly depend on the song itself. you just can't make quasar more interesting than what it's offering.

So basically you want shitty files to get into FFR?

I'm kinda torn on hearing the charts weren't that good this batch.
I'm happy because if the standards are this high maybe we'll get more great charts like Intersect and Xanthy out of the deal when they actually pass. Maybe I'll finally see a release where I enjoy all 5 charts. (Doubtful, but hearing this sort of thing makes me slightly optimistic.) On top of that, maybe my chart will pass and it'll feel awesome to know it got through one of the harsher batches. That'd feel pretty great. I'm sad because it does mean less material is going to get in the queue and it leaves the idea in my head that my charts are among the bad ones. Which is personally displeasing because I've recently felt really good about songs I've charted. So yeah like I said kinda torn. |

it could mean higher standards. or lower quality files were submitted this batch and the standard remained the same
im going to go with the second one |

tbh there were like 100+ files in the batch so it only makes sense that there were a shitton of 'mediocre' files
lots of submissions = more material to work with = standard for acceptance rises (or rather the plethora of mediocre files stand out more from previous/current standard) |

what i dont like about having closed submissions is that people get lazy and dont finish wips but as soon as the batch opens people rush their files to get them in on time thus leading to not so great files being submitted. which in turn makes me want to puke in peoples mouth.
