MinesOn please, but mines hit don't affect your score calculation. For higher level players, try the rates ladder.

[Overview]
Welcome to the Stepmania Ladder trial run. The purpose of this thread is to introduce new, more recent files into scoring among the stepmania community and to foster a greater sense of competition between both high and low tier players (blah blah blah aids aids play songs pls).

The idea is basically this: every 2-3 weeks, a set of files will be unveiled to participants. Participants will play the files and try to best each other. The rating we will be using is DP-marv (reference here http://www.staiain.net/StepMania/DP-M%20compare.html). Each file that they play and submit a score on will yield to their overall ladder standings.

You can submit as many times as you like.

[Ladder Points]
To put it simply, ladder points are based off of how well you are playing in each song, summing the DP-marv points rounded off to 3 decimal places and modifying them to a whole number.

Play more songs, earn more points. Improve your scores, earn more points.

An old system of relative ranking has been scrapped. Ladder is now based off absolute score.

[Questions]

Inspired in part by osu!'s ranking charts system. However, stepmania playerbase is not quite osu!'s so I'm not sure how many people actually plan on participating. In any case, I would love feedback on some details and suggestions you might have:

- How many files in each cycle should I run? How long should each ranking period last?
- Any other categories you guys would like to see? can't think of too much more inside Stepmania territory.
- How's the point distribution? What adjustments do you think would be better?
- Would anyone like to help me choose files for the cycles? I'm a shitty player so I'm probably not the best person to pick files tbh
- Other suggestions?
