Thought I should try something for this, so here's the transparent header:

And this is what it would look like on some different background colors:

Not referring to the banner itself, but applying it to different background colours to show the transparency properly.

I agree with Emithith- being minimalistic is probably the best approach with a site banner, but damn Silvuh, that looks awesome. @_@

Hence why I included the image of it displayed IN the header with the proper background color. That is legitimately the exact way it would look in the header.
