![]() ![]() I never had a N64 as a kid, but my neighbors did and I would always play at their house. They moved away when I was 10, so no more N64 for me. A month ago I found a bright blue one with all the cables and a controller and this game for $16.99 at a Goodwill store, so I bought it on a whim. I couldn't hook it up because the inputs in my TV didn't seem to respond, but yesterday I was given an old VCR. I hooked it up through the VCR, and voila, it works. I have never heard of this game, but it looks to be some kind of RPG. Has anyone here played it and is it any fun? If nothing else it'll be something to do until I get Pokemon Stadium 2, Glover, and Paper Mario... three games I adored as a kid.

![]() That was a brilliant price for a brilliant game! Actually kinda difficult to come by iirc. And you're right, it's and RPG. A RTS RPG infact! Give it a go, it's a gem that was missed by a lot of people due to it's late release

![]() You hit gold. That game generally is worth anything from 20 to 40 bucks so on value/economically wise it was a good buy
Gameplay, very neat but different. You have an army and roam a map, conquering other areas. It goes in missions I think. I had the game at one point but sold it off for reasons I don't even remember. It's a great game. Just different from a standard RPG. |

![]() Holy crap, you're right, it's $45 on eBay, without the manual.
![]() Gonna start into it tomorrow after school. I intended to tonight, but... lol, internets. I've only played a few RTS games (Soulmaster, primarily) in the past and failed horribly soooo... meh, hopefully I'll do better at this one? ^^

![]() I played the hell out of this game when it first came out. Just a tip since the game manual doesn't make this 100% clear - to get the better endings, make sure your unit has the same alignment as the location you're trying to capture (this will make sense once you start the game). Also there's a lot of secret classes and weapons, so you should read a guide if you want to save yourself multiple playthroughs to stumble upon them all.
My N64's broken or I'd record some gameplay from it :/ |

![]() I keep getting wrecked as **** at that game, but I don't hate it. Actually it's amazing, and I keep coming back for more punishment.

![]() It's a really good Tactic RPG. I'm not sure why people say RTS, since it's not at all Real Time.

![]() Ogre Battle is an amazing Tactical RPG.
Real slow gameplay so don't bother if you're some hyper Call of Duty kid, but if you're the kind of guy who reads item descriptions you'll probably like it

![]() Wow some serious nostalgia here, I had this game when I was a kid, didn't really like it then because it was too in depth and I just wanted to blow shit up. I started playing it again on the console 4 years ago just to see if there was actually anything to it and I ended up locked in my apartment for 3 days straight, just playing this game.
It's hard as hell, and I would definitely suggest playing on the console rather than an emulator to get the full experience. |
