Help me out, please?
I just published a short story, and unfortunately it is by views only, so please, anyone or anything even if you're a cat with a mustache and a bowler hat with a dog stuffed rug, read my story and leave a comment.
Even if you don't read it, page views count! http://www.associatedcontent.com/art...ue.html?cat=44 I don't ask for a lot but please help me in this... Yes if you're wondering I do actually own a cat with a mustache and bowler hat. |

Re: Help me out, please?
The story was alright on first read and I'm sure I could find deeper meaning in it than the whole name affair, but I'm not feeling it right now. Fix the obvious typos and maybe a few other conventions, but for the most part a solid short story.

Clicked on link.
Practiced my jacking on the F5 key to artificially bump the page view count (I've tried this, it actually works). CBF to actually read the damn thing, but that's nothing against you...I just don't like songfics. |

Clicked, but... my mom had a Cash tape that she played until it died (took 6 goddamn years) and it had that song on it. I hated that song. -_-

Re: Help me out, please?
I don't know anything about the song, but I felt nothing when reading this story. No tragedy, no moral, nothing.
The writing isn't bad, the descriptive sentences were excellent, but I just don't feel any "oh this guy is a badass." or "how tragic that a father and son shot eachother to death" etc. (I think that's what you were going for, anyway.) Just a opinion from me. I don't intend to make anyone feel offended |

I would assume it is counting unique views. If not enjoy some "Multi-tabb reload-every" :3

Re: Help me out, please?
Haha, well thanks.
I might have to get a cat with a bowler hat now and a mustache... o_o TO THE INTERNET! And again everyone thank you, it's funny how it works though, because when I first put it up on the site it only had like two advertisements, and now the whole page is filled with them, money I will never see from those ads, but interesting. Hopefully I'll be able to put out more stuff on the site even if it doesn't get a wide audience, I searched for it on Google, Bing, MSN and none of those search engines brought it up. Anyways, thank you |

Re: Help me out, please?
I thought it was good. There are some grammar mistakes and whatnot which kind of took me away from the story a few times. I did laugh at the ending though

Re: Help me out, please?
I'm confused, why do you want views?
You say you don't care if someone actually reads it, imply it's garbage you made in 30 min, fully acknowledge that it needs some more work to be good, and then you say that you don't get money from ads, so I have no idea what your motivation for publishing? It isn't a bad read, definitely editing would help it a lot. You have good imagery. |

Re: Help me out, please?
Yeah, that post made it sound like I thought worse of it than it is. I really just am confused about the author, to not want to officially publish your best work (is it actually published where it is anyways?), but yet to want to get people to see it. I mean, it's a thrill to get people to see your work, but publishing is where you get to show off your best stuff, not stuff that you, as the author, see flaws in. Unless you want the money more, but then they're not getting money?

Re: Help me out, please?
Darn, from the title I thought the story was gonna be about Dexter's Lab (even if that episode sucked)
