I miss his Spontaneous Contests
I'm happy to see that front page posts are more graphical now though, reminiscent of Tass era.EDIT: The guy has an era named after him, therefore, he deserves legend status :P

As most said, although I don't agree with (many) decisions he made, he is more than deserving due to his longstanding commitment and dedication for this game.

Guys, we lived during the Tass era!
I believe he should receive legendary status. Sure, he was kind of an asshole at times, but he was a chill guy nonetheless. He practically coordinated everything and imo contributed most to the site than anyone. Regardless of his infamous rage quitting, rejecting everything FFR related (or maybe just the Synth man), the amount of good he did should not go unnoticed.

Has anyone turned the question around and considered whether -TASS- would want FFR Legend status? He left on pretty bad terms with the site, opened a directly competing site, and so far as I know, has never come back.

He has posted at least once from what I remember, I think for a bet of AAAing Tell v3 that dossar won. He said he wouldn't be returning though.

I'm voting that Tass should be legendary for his efforts to bring FFR to the masses. Not just through widgets, but for introducing it to Kongregate (and vice versa, introducing us to it, kicking off a beautiful rivalry between himself and Rubix).
He also did a hell of a job with stepfiles, personally playing every one of them before even putting it through the converter. Also, Biggest Postwhore 07-08. Yikes. Above all, aside from holding himself to what others expected of him, he did the same for others. Now that FFR's a non-profit, I don't see Tass ever getting the money he says Synth owes him, but by the same token I don't think he's going to press charges. Yeah, it was an ugly split, but as long as he was here he did some amazing things. Tass for legend. |

He's not with thirdstyle anymore either. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Besides, isn't Legend status just a way to show the current users, 'hey, this person has done a considerable amount for FFR and deserves some respect'? That's certainly how I interpreted it.

I woud say Tass is more than deserving, but it's like Devonin said. It all depends on if he wants it or not. I think someone should contact him and have him discuss with us here. (And maybe try to put him on better terms with FFR?)

I highly doubt it would change his feelings. :/

key word here.
Bbut honestly, maybe just let him vent out anything he could have possibly kept to himself. "The FFR Lo-Down" is quite a lot, but I'm sure there's some other things he'd be more than happy to let out now.

I forgot I don't have the logs anymore because of my HDD wiping, but when we were having the East Coast meet up he actually considered coming but was worried that the community would be offended by that. He doesn't hate the community, quite the opposite actually, he still loves the community.
EDIT: Just think, if he hated the community why would he have come and honored a challenge from how long ago?

The question was whether Tass deserved it, not whether he gave a shit.
I'm not demanding that he be given legend status immediately, I was thought it would be an interesting discussion. And he's not declining the status change, he just says he doesn't care whether or not he gets it since he's not a part of the FFR community anymore. Do you think Shash cares that he got legend status? Probably not since he doesn't come on the site anymore. Like I said before, Legend status is just a way of respecting those who have done a significant amount of work for the site and are no longer active members.

Doesn't change that the community could choose whether or not they want to honor him for the things he contributed.

I'm pretty sure Tass doesn't care.
At any rate, he obviously did a lot for the site, and most of the people who have some axe to grind with him are probably just butthurt over some past ban. Can anyone give a real example otherwise? If you're pissed off at how FFR turned out, blame Synth (and, to some extent, Xelius). |

Yeah, but I just mean, if he's NEVER coming back and DOES NOT care whether the community wants to honour him or not, I just don't see the point.
The inactive profile of an inactive user who doesn't post on the forums or talk in the chat saying 'FFR Legend' on it doesn't -do- anything. |
