![]() Let's hear em
Personally, I quite like Timed Hits in SMRPG and the ATB system of Chrono Trigger. |

![]() Honestly, i know everyone hated it cause it was so complicated, but the battle system of chrono cross was my favorite. I cant even begin to explain it though :P

![]() Paper Mario / SMRPG Style. Turn-based with Timing Actions. Can't beat that.

![]() Chrono Cross was epic. Legend of the Dragoon with the additions. Also Baten Kaitos with the Magnus. And FFXIII i liked. And Final Fantasy Tactics i loved.

![]() The morrowind/oblivion/skyrim system is awesome except the fact that by default mobs level with u and its never easier once you've levelled, unless you have better gear. I usually mod that part of the game though.
I have oblivion working in multiplayer now too :P (now is a year and a half ago) |

![]() Board-based turn system. Examples: Final Fantasy Tactics, Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth (Favorite RPG of all time btw), Dynasty Tactics.
Seriously, this is soooo fun and, sadly, underrated/unexplored. |

Really? All the FF Tactics, Ogre Tactics, every fire Emblem, Yggdra Union, Dynasty Tactics, Onimusha Tactics, Dungeons and Dragons Tactics, Suikoden Tactics, heck, there was even a part like that in Suikoden 2. It's eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeverywhere.

agreed. this goes for most of the Mario & Luigi series. I thoroughly enjoyed the timing requirements, especially in Bowser's Inside Story, where i think they really narrowed down the timing window for success

![]() Yup. Paper Mario had a great battle system. However, the FF13 ATB system is one of my favourites.

![]() Quest 64, Turn Based Real Time.
Just Kidding, that system made no sense at all. |

![]() Have to give it to Final Fantasy 13. I love the fusion of classic turn based elements with real time strategic decisions.
The pacing is so much better than any other system developed thus far IMO. It's much faster and much more exciting and also allows for surprising levels of strategic depth (Something that was missing from the system in 12 IMO, since strategy there was determined primarily outside of battle rather than in it)

![]() Now that I think about it, Final fantasy 13 was similar to Quest 64.

I thought the hex grid system in Wild Arms 4 and 5 was pretty interesting.

![]() phantasy star online's would be great if not butchered by sega's awful history of camera angles
for more turn based rpg's, chrono cross had something cool going on.

![]() Should check out some gameplay of PSO2. It's obviously like PSO but with a lot of improvements.
