Fine, stability is the most important thing anyways.
3.9 and 4.0 are fine but 3.95 is a bit unstable for me. Also, SSC's slow down feature doesn't work on my PC for some reason. so I use 4.0 and DDream 2.0 for stepping, 3.9 is only for testplay. |

3.9+ is very stable indeed but i hate the fact that in the SM file, it would add in a bunch of crap in it that's not even needed. I also hate the fact that it would sometimes make a lot of nonexistent EDIT charts for no reason. For example, lets say that you finished your chart on 3.9+ and saved it. If you were to play it on for example, on 3.95 or 4.0, it would show like 2-5 EDIT charts that's either completely empty or it contains auto generate charts for no reason at all.
EDIT: Honestly, i think if 3.9 just supported 192nds, support cmod play in the editor, had better sound quality when slowed down AND had online play, i think it would be the most stable version ever. I honestly do NOT believe that 3.95 is 3.9 but with online play and supported 192nds, i think they added much more to that to make it so buggy. Ever wonder why 3.9 can ALWAYS play edit charts but on 3.95 it sometimes doesn't read it?

Supporting 192nds is relatively easy (if you can recompile, at least - I think you have to change SnapDisplay, NoteTypes, and NoteDisplay), but the other things you mentioned would take some serious coding/bugfixes. I agree, though - if there was a version of 3.9 that did what you said, without major bugs, I'd never want to use anything else.
Oh yeah, and the editor should also fix the bug that messes up BPMs when you compress/extend sections with BPM changes... |

I was very used to step on 4.0 but Icy introduced me to DDream after I was against it for over a year.
It is really a good tool to step more accurate, faster and more stable because I just hit shift-S like every 20 notes to save |
