religion/science
I am probably closest to atheist (the belief in no God) if not agnostic theist (the belief that there could be a god but that it is unknown currently, out of our realm of our comprehension) I saw the "atheists make me sick" thread. If you have no idea what you are talking about don't jump to conclusions. Do your research first if you aren't knowledgable on the subject at hand.
To any of you that are stubborn to the fact that atheism is terrible and false, here are a few videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdVucvo-kDU (can't argue with statistics) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDHJ4...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rqUsC2KsiI&feature=fvw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4mWiqkGy-Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLIKA...eature=related the point of these videos is that believing the logical (true facts of the world) is what is best for humankind. Delusion is dangerous. Note the statistics shown in the first video link I posted. Who is truly the closeminded, the violent, and the stubborn? and who is truly the logical, the rational, and the openminded? |

Re: religion/science
So, do you have a stance? What are you trying to debate here?
Also, go find some credible sources before you ask people to look at stuff. youtube =/= credible source. |

Re: religion/science
Most theists don't seem to fully understand most of what science is able to explain today. Back them into a corner and they piss their pants and grasp at straws, and ultimately default to "Well whatever I still believe in God" as if that gets you any closer. Either that or they ignore half your arguments because they either 1. Pick and choose what they want to refute, usually going into a sort of lame "science is never 100% right" argument which has been torn apart ad infinitum, or 2. Don't understand what you're arguing. Theism is the lazy man's way out.
Every theist I've ever debated has had their ass handed to them, whether they realize it or not. Unfortunately, it will be impossible for me to ever be able to say "Hah! Told you!" when you die and suddenly encounter nonexistence. Last edited by ItIsAMystery; 11-6-2009 at 07:46 PM.. |

Re: religion/science
Believing and not believing in god is both retarded since the whole concept of god is based on FAITH and by definition, FAITH can't be prooven so it's useless to try to explain why it do or don't exit since both side don't have any proof and will never.
I would really like to get a response to my post. Last edited by Artic_counter; 11-6-2009 at 09:08 PM.. |

Re: religion/science
I'm an Atheist, but I accept the fact that everyone has different beliefs and I don't try to change them.

Re: religion/science
People use religion as a way to comfort themselves when things don't go well, it's really sad.

Re: religion/science
I don't believe in God nor do I believe in a government that can do **** right. Therefore, I am an atheastic bastard.
I also don't judge people's beliefs nor do I care. |

Re: religion/science
I have my beliefs. I also hold the belief that people who believe in God don't really understand science worth a damn. Doesn't mean I need to convert anyone.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into. |
