well, it's not entirely the same thing, but when i was in high school, i was in gym class, and we were doing swimming, and i have an unfortunate thing, that it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to float. so i decided to actually give it a try, and i ended up slipping off my board in the 9 foot deep area of the pool.
i ended up drowning (i was literally dead), but something in me kicked and my dumbass sprang back to life, and i ended of be pulled away by an old friend of mine. best 12 seconds of my life (being dead that is) >.> |

I just about died in a car accident when I was 1 or 2.
Another time I was about to cross a street and I didn't notice that a car was coming. I almost stepped in front of it.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. My RA's marine boyfriend wanted to prove to my floormates that he could balance me above his head with one hand on my back. I fell off his hand from ceiling height and slammed head first into the floor so hard the floor below filed a complaint. I have this crazy picture someone took on my phone of my eyes being crossed for awhile. He bought me cupcakes afterwards.

When I was 3 years old I drowned in my grandmother's pool.
My two cousins were swimming at the time and I thought to myself, "How hard could it be to swim if they're doing it so easily?" So I jumped into the deep end of the pool and immediately sank. I came to about 30 minutes later, but I never found out how long I was actually underwater. At least it didn't traumatize me, which it should have. I'm an avid swimmer and I've even played for my high school water polo team =).

When I was about six I almost drowned in the ocean. I am scared of the ocean now, I feel really stupid whenever people ask if I want to go to the beach and I say no. Because they just automatically think I'm crazy for fearing the ocean.

I asked my mom today if there was anything else that she remembers that almost killed me. She said she remembers me cracking my head off of the diving board trying to do a bac flip, I knocked myself unconscious and hit the water with a sickening splash, as she says. I almost drowned. xD

I'm surprised at how many people almost died. I once choked on a lego piece.

The Lulz, Do It For Them

I almost died twice, both happened when i was about 2. First, I decided to run away from my parents into a busy street when a car was about to hit me, my sister managed to pull me back. Second, i again ran away from my parents and tried to jump down a fleight of stairs (about 20 steps high) that were all concrete finishing with concrete at the bottom, and again my sister pulled me back haha.
Thats what she said... |

When I was around 4 I was swimming without floaties, using an intertube. My sister was supposed to be watching me. When I got to the deep end I accidentally fell and it took her a bit to notice. I almost drowned.
Then when I was 6 or so I was at a lake in Alabama, and my sister was going to the tiny store down the gravel road on her bike for a gallon of milk. I came along with her, but I wasn't wearing any shoes. My foot was caught in the bicycle spoke and it spun my leg around and broke it in 3 places, then I shattered my ankle. One of my bones was sticking out of my shin and my leg was all twisted up in the wheel. My face and side was all scratched up and full of gravel. I don't remember much because I blacked out, but I almost bled to death. I had emergency surgery done on my leg and was in a cast for about a year, and then I had to go through physical therapy for a few years. I still have trouble with that leg. Then when I was about 8 I jumped off of a cement pier, or whatever you want to call it. Dock. Fishing dock. I did a flip and hit my head on the cement, because the cement went all the way down into the water and I thought it was hollow underneath like a diving board is. I passed out in the water and almost drowned. Another time I was in Alaska and fell through the ice and almost froze to death. That happened sorta again here in Texas when my pool froze over and I was trying to reach for a toy that went too far on the ice. I was just a wimp that time. Was ****ing cold though. I've had a lot of problems with water, but I still love to swim and do it often. I've had other broken bones and things from skateboarding and ****, when I was a teenager. But as far as I can remember those were my only near death experiences. All of them are really fuzzy and vague. Edit: oh yah this one time i was in one of those bath spa tubs, and the thing that circulates the water sucked my hair into it when I dunked under to rinse off shampoo. I couldn't come up and the water was rising above my head. I started screaming and then my grandma who was watching me rushed in and cut it off then had to cut my hair out of it. seriously, I thought I was going to die. I couldn't breathe and was sucking in water, and I was trying everything I could. I was in there for a good 5 minutes before someone came.

Oh yea, my mom was driving me to a piano recital when we were sideswiped by this speeding van, tore of a huge strip on the side of our van. At least we were not smashed head on.... Freaked the hell out of me none the less.
Not really near death but I got my finger nearly cut off when my mom was slicing bread, needed stiches, at the time it felt like near death xD. And again not really near death, but I broke my wrist playing on some plastic dollhouse in Disney World/Land. Stupid kid decides to push me from the top when I was sitting on it, the drop to the ground was only like 4 feet but I landed on my wrist.... My little bro, when he was 5, ran too fast on the tredmil and got a huge burn mark. My grandparents slipped on the stairs, had to be rushed to the hospital. My grandmothers brother or somthing just got into a car accident and died.... Uuuhh... no more death/near death/pain that I can think of. |

I was 8 years old I think. In New Zealand. Can't remember exactly where it was. There was this natural forming lake/pond, at high tide the sand is pushed up and it causes a natural dam. Theres a large stream pouring into it, and we stupidly decided to swim in it. The thing could have blown at any moment.
So my sister and I got this stupid idea to dig out a waterslide, so it started as a trickle and then got bigger and bigger until we could go down it. OMG It was fun as hell! We got about 6 runs each until my Dad decided to take a picture. By then it was getting REALLY rough. There was a huge roller at the bottom of it about 5 or 6 feet tall, from the water pouring in over top and then rushing back underneath into a continuous rolling wave. Anyways, I went down it (of course I'm tiny as hell) and I get stuck in this wave. if anyone knows what it's like to be STUCK and completely helpless, you know how horrible it was. Anyways I was in there for an eternity of 7 seconds, thankfully my dad got out of shock and came to the rescue. I swallowed a crapload of sand though, and I am now super paranoid about the ends of waterslides. ^^

one time i got swept underwater by a wave and was dragged along the bottom and couldnt right myself to get some air. scared me a little, but i was okay. my friend though i had drowned cause they lost sight of me, then when they saw i was okay, they started laughing at me. my freinds are jerks.
i continually almost get hit by cars when walking to class. idiot drivers (i dont cause it, they do - i cross when im supposed to). cars have gotten close enough to me for me to kick or hit. what's worse it that there are a bunch of kids crossing at the crosswalk to get to class, and the drivers still dont stop. im afraid one day a car is just going to plow through us all. |
