The lazy person who doesn't wash their hands can spread brain worms.
Lovely. Also, I've seen worse.

Ive seen much worse, it wasnt that bad.
Only thing that would have made me sick is if it was in her eye or whatnot, I can't handle surgery on the eyes. |

This isn't that bad. I'm sick of seeing people being pussies and saying how they almost threw up while watching. Grow a back bone! It isn't disgusting. I have seen worse... well... not really... But seriously, it isn't bad. And I have an odd urge to eat toast with marmalade and go play Jam & Marmalade on DDR MAX... Weird, huh?
Exactly! I hate that too. |

It's nothing to do with someone having a back bone or not. Some people just do not appreciate watching such things because it makes them uneasy. You're just not one of these people. It's just like scraping a fork against your teeth, some people hate the sound, and some do not.
It's a good thing the woman could be saved without any damage being done. Shows how much we've advanced these days, capable of fetching a worm in the brain. the next step is being able to detect the worm with all those fancy machines, instead of saying it's a tumor. I think things could have gone far worse (luckily they didn't). |

I did get a bit queasy, but I didn't throw up or anything.
All I want to know is how that nasty little worm slithered into her brain from the uncooked meat.

I liked that the surgeon laughed while pulling the worm out, I probably would have done the same thing.

Roundworms are a perfect example. http://abyssaldepths.wordpress.com/2...visual-images/ And be careful with eating raw meats. http://z.about.com/d/urbanlegends/1/0/j/3/Gross2.jpg - Brain Maggots if you want to see.

With all the things you can get, this doesn't worry me. Quite honestly if you live a generally clean life, then you should be fine. If you get something like this, then deal with it.
Could always be worse. |

I'm sure not everyone supervises every aspect of the preperation of every piece of food they eat like you. Edit: Oh. Chrissi already said this, huh? Oh well. XD Last edited by travman301; 11-27-2008 at 04:35 AM.. |

i dont supervise the preparation of any food i eat. and if she somehow got it from a person with infected hands, would washing her hands eliminate it or not?(assuming she didn't digest it, just had dirty hands and touched her mouth or something)

Eh... the brainworm wasn't that bad. I was expecting much worse. Like...

On a semi-related note regarding hygiene and food, my friend once ate a pop tart off the floor of the picnic area at Cedar Point. Didn't seem to bother him.
