Mine a23 wasn't working so I installed rc2. I thought it would transfer all of my files from a23 to rc2, but it didn't. Guess I'm screwed.

Now SM has a virus, thats hilarious.

My SM is working fine, only problem i have is with certain songs like Slave Labor or Seymour Final Battle, its like it skips

I've had rc2 for a while and nothing has happened to mine ever. Not sure how you all are having problems and I'm not but..

I guess if you just get rc2 it works. Figured I'd post this just as an fyi type of thing.

Now what I am wondering is how all of the Stepmania's do not work at the same time in every computer.

The Stepmania game is not connected to the Internet, this shouldn't be a problem to the game. There must have been something inside the game to have distrupt every version and every persons version except rc2a and the few others who have made it. All stopped at the same time, so it was certainly a designated time put into the game.

Really I have no clue what has happend, maybe a plot to update to rc2a, which means more traffic and downloads? Haha, I don't have a clue.

I'm assuming it's a small trojan horse of some kind, designed to stop stepmania.exe from executing. Some asshole coder that got banned from some Bemani site probably wrote it, and sent it to everyone he could find.

This is just a wild guess, though, as the problem is not affecting me.

Well it didn't affect me too much. At first it didn't work, then i removed some song in the song folder and then reload it, it worked again...You don't need to like omg uninstall sm wtf =p...

You guys should be able to go back to your old alphas now, it was a bug not a virus. Stepmania wouldn't start up, because this year was a leap year, which gave one extra day onto the year. Stepmania is only programmed for 365 days so when yesterday hit, it didn't know wtf the date was and it wouldn't initiliaze. The bug had been fixed in RC2 so thats why it works on it.

OMFG DAMNIT!!! I already went thru all the work/heartache of uninstalling SM not one, not 2, but THREEEE TIMES because I had a really old SM, A16 which I normally used, and A23 which was for SMlan... it was so traumatic! rc2 works fine now... but I lost A16!!!! noooo!!! XD well at least I don't have to worry about A16 randomly giving me A's when the score is really a AA anymore... *coughASBandPRw/mines*

yeah... ridiculous and hilarious... =(
