In all seriousness though, I think it's a going a bit too far. Yeah, they look cute and all, but it's not really something that you absolutely need.
I guess for each his own; everyone has different tastes.

People do realize that those eyes are simply a portrayal of how a person's eyes affected the artist, right? At least that's a good part of it.

I guess most people don't have much subtlety and like to take the metaphor as literally as possible.

Kinda like bible freaks.

hmmmmm interesting. If my eyes were a bit bigger then I would have anime eye. For a guy, my eyes are girly enough with the longish lashes

I always thought large eyes made you look like you were insane.

Hence serial killers and such being depicted killing people with their eyes wide open.

You don't sleep with contact lenses in. They'd have normal eyes then. It's only when they are in. It's not as if this is a surgical operation to permanently change their eyes, it's a short-term change. Which, in my opinion, looks nice.

Also, when you say "not normal" you are essentially saying "cosmetically changing yourself isn't normal".

Let's remove lipstick, make-up, styling your hair, and every other cosmetic alteration to a person because that's all making them look "not normal".
