I think there shouldn't be a gambling opportunity for getting vROFL. Especially if it's going to get as ridiculous as millions for a millionth.

There "can" be an alternative. There are people who are relentlessly forced into D5 despite their lengthy history of FFR playing. People like that should be recognized or given another method in which they can earn vROFL. (well, those mini-contests and such do that job... I guess).

It's humanly impossible to AAA every song in FFR. "Humanly." Not "techinically."

Because so few people have it, and earning it is the only way to have played every level (and clear out that horrible rank in the token ranks). But if you add more and more ways to get it, it loses that coveted appeal because more people have it and it is easier to get anyway. I agree there should be alternate ways of getting it, but not one that is available all the time.

This is really true. Once you hit D5, you're in a division that requires you to match player like Xiaounlimited, Laggy, Rubix, Shash, Izzy, etc. Come on, that's ****in stupid and you know it. Nobody's going to match them because nobody has their amount of experience. And as we gain experience, so do they. There's no conceivable way to catch up to them, so there is no conceivable way to gain the token for those people in lower or even middle D5. IMO it should be a lower placement for D5, like place top 20 or something.

I actually like this idea.

I don't understand why you guys are shooting it down so much.

One of your reasons if because more people will have it. First off, only a very small number of people have over 500k credits. Second off, how many of these people are willing to lose all of those credits for a 1/10 chance of winning a song? Barely anyone would risk that since the odds are so small. Therefore, the only people who would do this are the ones with a HUGEEE credit count and can afford to lose that many credits.

Not only that, but this will also help to fix the "credit inflation" that went on.

Lastly, out of the people who do attempt this, how many do you think would actually win vROFL? Barely any.

it goes back to the initial purpose/point of the song/level.... it isn't MEANT to be played. at all. it was a JOKE. for april fools 2007. then, about a month later, we implemented the 1st token... and then we had the 2nd FFR tournament... and it just kinda made sense to reward people with vROFL as a special prize. and that's how it was borne.

the recent stuff with the GWCs is just because it seems kinda appropriate, and it's a good incentive for users to actually participate in them.

but, yea. to do a system whereby anyone COULD obtain vROFL would defeat the purpose and awe of the token. even after 3 tournaments (and 2 GWCs) we barely have over 100 users with vROFL.

apart from making an absolutely stupidly hard achievement or skill token req (which i wouldn't do), there isn't any token that is nearly as hard to obtain as vROFL.... nor could there ever be. i do plan on having a few really really hard achievement tokens, but i suspect 100 users will get them within a month, if not less. let alone 18 months.

Why you all want that vROFL so much? It's insane. I think it's current requirement for it is good enough. If you can't win a tournament, you aren't worth it, you wouldn't pass it anyway (actually most of you). Like Tass said, it's just a joke, why do you need it? And i don't think that luck should be involved to obtain this.

Dude.

EDIT: And some people get a kick out of playing joke files. Plus, luck is already required to obtain it.
