As long as the judges are actually fair (i.e. not "I'm bad at this pattern so you have to change it"), which I certainly believe they are, then I would vastly prefer a nitpicky rejection of one of my files to getting it queue'd then later realizing that there are mistakes after it's too late to change anything.

If my files are gonna be in-game and unalterable thereafter, I want them to be as good as they can be before getting there.

for FFR he did. no idea for RF pakc.

and, yea... i've been hearing from both jx and blu that there are very very few files being approved by either. so it isn't just blu coming on board and being a file nazi. it seems like the files just really really suck.


edit: also, battle theme #37 has 1337 notes. i assume sulfer did that on purpose. and EW likes to step his files with an even number of notes (sometimes notes would get cut off to screw that up though)... but like 2000 for hajnal. or Rebirth doing 1000 for Gaussian Blur. EW doing 666 for sword strike. EW did it with a lot of files. Not that it has a direct correlation to the song, per se, just that it isn't a "random" number of notes, there was some degree of manipulation done.

this is how ffr judging probably went when rebirth was around:

JX: mis-rhythm'd a couple parts with 64ths instead of 192nds but they're barely audible so it's ok. [+]
Rebirth: Holy **** the file has 16th notes in it. That's AWESOME, make more files with 16th notes in them like this [+]

Tass: the file is ok...but please remove all the patterns i'm bad at from the file and resubmit. i think i'll do better on--i mean, i think the file will be much better without those. [+?]
