Wouldn't be applicable for most songs, particularly ones from RB1.

I'd almost rather say they should add a turntable that'd play like Spin It Up that produces a chart on the fly based on the final mix of the music. Or have certain songs marked as supporting it and have special charts made for them (such as, oh, I dunno, that older Linkin Park song rumored to be included in the main list).

But even that wouldn't work well. I'd say they have their bases covered pretty well with guitar (plus bass guitar), drums, and vocals. I wouldn't mind seeing a full keyboard simulator game on it's own, with support on the side (for certain songs) for future RB systems, but as a standard insert to the RB band setup, I'd say it wouldn't ever really work, nor would anything else really. You might as well be arguing for horns or something. ACTUALLY LET'S GET SOME ****ING HORNS IN HERE THAT WOULD BE SO KEWL

Oh would you look at that, you can buy metal pedals.
Yeah, you could also create something yourself of similar quality for a couple bucks and a little bit of work. Or you could steal a butterknife and duct tape it to the thing for next to nothing.

I would say that what most people want is first party products of higher quality, not mods, not third party.

ps thought you might want to see this:

Immediately upon purchasing Rock Band 2 you'll have the ability to download a huge library of songs, as well as all of the songs off of the original disc as a free download.
This sounds both amazing and stupid of them to do. The old versions of Guitar Hero still sell relatively well, I'm sure, because those are the only way to get those older setlists. If every song from every game of GH were available online to the most recent incarnation, they'd be selling way less copies of games, AND have to have extended/modified contracts for it.

I think a better way to handle this, at least from a business perspective and while maintaining the "you can play RB1 songs on RB2" thing, would be to install the songs onto the harddrive right from the getgo. It'd burn harddrive space, I'll admit, but it opens the door to not need special contracts for the songs as DLC when they've already been established in another medium.
