wow that's the first time I think I've seen HD5 mentioned since the week after it got put into the game XD my 2nd and by far my most forgotten file.

Electro Rush x8 v2 is an amazing stepfile btw one of the most if not the most fun 12s, Frictional Nevada is amazing too.

dark... so you know... baring 1-2 exceptions... none of the songs have more steps than notes. just that as a 1-hander, you aren't really good enough to do well on them, so you can't appreciate or properly analyze them. and, there's nothing that wrong with it. everyone is entitled to play how they want and play the levels they want.

give yourself time, and your take on files will grow and become more refined. i think some users would disagree with some of your choices on your list, even for songs specifically in that difficulty range... but again, you're entitled to your opinions.

Sigh, of course people would disagree with the songs i picked mr. admin dude, but you see those are just songs that i thought had good steps in them and that moderate players might enjoy them. The List does not actually say Top 7 songs in the entire game so i see no reason why anyone would complain about any of those songs. O and also about the extra note thing i sorta ment that also with bad steps such as Break out Break out which is a terrible song with random notes at that one part at the end. the rest of the song is fine. However Songs like I Can See the Light just have bad steps for them.

Also unless you can do 2 hands with say, A, S, F, G There is no point for me to learn how to use 2 hands because it's really just not cool.

You can appreciate lower level songs because you don't understand how they should look experience is vital in these kinds of situations you're just not good enough to understand how the steps should look like because you're used to looking at a bar of gallops that you could play with the song muted which ruins the entire point.

It's fun. Veritably. But, I think there's a misstep towards the beginning. (But what am I to say about it... my stepfile sucked.)

1) No one's complaining about your song choices.

2) I didn't know that there was a "cool" way that was above practicality in playing with two hands. Because there isn't. You can play z x . /, a z . ;, or w/e, as long as it works fine. Who cares how it looks.

3) Your last paragraph is way too unconventional and is hard to understand, but all songs can be played muted (most people mute when the file is offsync). WTF is a bar of gallops? Learn terminology. Are you saying you know how to judge a simfile better than Tasselfoot, or just about anyone in this forum? I laugh. As he said, all with a few exceptions are stepped accurately, and I'm sure most if not everyone would agree.

Legend of Zelda is just a completely offsync file so it shouldn't be your accurate list.

and 99% of steps in ERV2 are quite the same with the SM one.

'Tis sad how stargroup made good files and didn't afraid of anything, but then became a troll, eh?

I'd post in here a lot more, but the problem is that I can't really analyze the files well because I don't have en editor to view them in. I have to try and do it midgame, which is a mental mess. I just have to go off of what I think is fun, which is apparently the polar opposite of literally everybody on the site. First time I played Final Step, I almost thought it was a joke file. It's such a bad PA file, my fingers froze. They stopped pushing buttons because my brain was overloaded was seemingly* random arrows to hit. I closed the browser out at a 400 combo. Only file I closed out of midgame, and I refuse to play it again. I understand wanting to step accurately, but... some stepfile artists seem like they're on an ego trip with how "accurate" they can be, sacrificing making the file flow or be any fun.

*I say seemingly because behanjc has the tendency of stepping to things I can't even hear. I'm sure all the sounds are there.

Maybe you should get new speakers or turn up the volume, because I hear every beat he has went with.

That's really not the point, EnR. I don't care if the sounds are there, it doesn't mean you have to step to them. Final Step is like a bunch of hands and quads that aren't really hands and quads, but instead, little 512th notes that are so jammed together that they look like hands and quads. It's a big finger spasm and it's not fun.

FFR allows you to just hit them as hands and quads... so just do that :P

btw rofl, they're 48th and 64th notes. Not very many songs on FFR have 192nds.

Yes I know you were being sarcastic with 512ths.

I know I can hand / quad them... that's not the point either. The point here isn't what I can do. There are plenty of files I can't do very well that I think are stepped well. It's about whether or not it's fun... I just don't think there's a reason to ever be that technical in a file unless you're trying to prove a point or something. If we're talking about whether or not I can do Final Step? Of course. I'm just not going to.

EDIT: Just to say, my stepfiles are horrible. I can't step for crap. But I'm not going to claim I can by sending them into the queue.

I know what you mean now.

since I make files, I notice when 48ths and 64ths are needed and it seems odd without them xD

Wow, probably the most understanding comment I've gotten about hating Final Step (besides one other person whom I love on AIM). Thanks, EnR.

Oh, and to add, it's also about the patterns you use. There is a way to put even the pickiest layering down in a way that's fun to hit. I hated the way all the 48ths and 64ths were played down in Final Step. Same with Lunatic Princess. Oh my god, there were just these huge blobs of 32nd notes. The patterns didn't have any rhyme or reason on my fingers or in my brain. And I don't suck that bad. I don't think it's just me not being able to play.

I find that because FFR only has like 30 fps, when you play stuff that does have 64ths, sometimes they're really spread out and sometimes they're just hands, it's stupid.
