I've noticed recently that most of the moods i'm in are due to whatever music i'm listening to at the time. Not just talking about fast music getting you pumped up, but i mean prime examples like this:
Two months ago, i broke up with my ex, and it wasn't until just recently that i remembered the weekend before that i had listened to the album "Funeral" by AF for the first time, and i loved it in a depressing sort of way. Although she was causing me lots of internal pain, it wasn't until i listened to Funeral that i realized I was becoming self destructive and incredibly depressed. It's a great album, listen to it if you already haven't. Does music affect you in any way? |

Most of music I listen to is depending on the mood I feel at the moment. It has no effect to my emotions except that it might give me a boost to what current mood I have at the time.

Yeah, music has an effect on me. Used to be that I played music relating to my mood, or the music I had on would relate to whatever I was thinking.
Nowadays music affects me differently. I listen to such a wide variety of music that a lot of it can be beautiful and it affects me purely in a musical sense, that I enjoy listening to the music and get into it. I can't actually really explain it. All I can say for certain is that music is my 2nd biggest passion in life and I tend to listen to hours of music per day. |

Music has a massive influence on my emotions, but there are certain times where there is a counter-balance. Sometimes my emotions influence the music I listen to entirely. An example would be that if I'm really pissed off, I'm not going to go listen to The Smiths, or other slow and (sometimes) humour related music. I'd be more likely to listen to something violent.

Music is my life. Different music effects me in different ways. I would say music effects about 80% of my mood. A song can cheer me up more then one single person can, a lot of the time.

My entire life pretty much centers around music. I'm studying music, I play a lot of music, I listen to tons of all kinds of music, and hey, I play games based on music.

It affects me a lot, but not my mood in such a way to end up being depressive.
That's nearly pathetic. It's minimal the way it affects my mood. "I had a ****ty day, but then listened to some Bob Marley and magically felt great after being robbed right after receiving my pay check." |

Music really doesn't affect me at all. I love listening to music and am much more involved in it than most people I know, but it doesn't affect my mood or anything else whatsoever.

I actually don't listen to much music, and when I do, I don't feel particularly moved by anything. It's more that I listen to certain music based on my current mood rather than the other way around.

Music is a huge part of me, I've been playing music since the 3rd grade which means I've been playing music for about 8 years. Most of my friends I've met through various music programs, and I love music and love to talk about it. Its a subject that comes up pretty frequently with my friends.
My mood is not affected by music all that much, but listening to some really good rock ballads sometimes makes me tear. Like Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton its a beautiful song, and he wrote in honor of his young son after he died by falling off a balcony. Last edited by SnipedYou; 06-4-2008 at 08:46 PM.. |

Music is something the world could not exist without. It is an art that flows through my veins and beats in my heart. A perfect little story:
Last year, my sophomore year of high school, I attended the Sophomore Gathering dance. I was dancing with my girlfriend when I stopped, and went to the dj to make a request. I requested I Don't Ant To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith. Well, we were dancing to a fast song and out of the blue my requested song came on. I cannot express in words the feeling in my heart when I laid my head on my girlfriends shoulder as she laid her head on my chest and I glanced around the room, singing the song, and saw every person in the room singing along with me. Rap fans, pop fans, rock fans, people who weren't ever big music fans, everyone knew the words. |

Music is one of my artistic outputs and one of my artistic inputs. I use it as a means of expression, and also as a source of inspiration. I use it to get into certain moods, I use it to pull my mind to places I would not otherwise be able to access.

I don't listen to my music according to my mood. I usually just turn my music on when I want to be on cruise control. If there's nothing else to do, I usually analyze the music I listen to.
By the way, gentlemen, y'all should learn the lyrics to "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story. That song relieves so much stress. |

Music is my life also.
I listen to it if I'm unhappy and also when I am sad. I find lyrics that say what I am unable to. My life without music... I am unable to imagine that.
