Default Problems with my keyboard

Some of the new songs have triple and quadruple notes, and I can't play them well because whenever I try to press 3 keys or more some of them do not work at all. How can I solve this problem?

use the in-game key re-mapper. many keyboards (especially laptops) can only recognize 2 inputs at once from the arrow keys. if you re-map to the letter keys, almost every keyboard can recognize more inputs (at least 4, if not up to 7).

I think my keyboard doesn't register quads when I use the left arrow key, down arrow key, 8 key on the numpad, and the 6 key on the numpad. I tried substituting 8 and 6 for 7 and 5; it worked. Just experiment with your keys. Find something comfortable that works. Perhaps keys like " D, F, J, K " for example?

not every keyboard will register more then 2 keys at once (that is letters and numbers and arrows) how ever every keyboard will allow for shift to be registered along with 2 other keys. Try using a different key mapping program like the ffr keymap found in the simple alternative to ffr key map thread, and hotkeying shift along with some otehr letters, i am positive you will get at least 3 keys (shift and 2 others) to register.
I hope this helps.

You can use stepmania's test input function to see which of your keys register at the same time. I needed 16 keys for IIDX, so I had quite the trouble finding a good set.

For spread, z x . / is the most commonly used (for a laptop anwyay).

My IIDX 7key keymap consists of z x c v m , . /, which can all be registered simultaneously

Avoid using the shift button if you have stickykeys setting popups.

First of all make sure scroll lock is off.
Second, you can re-map your keys so you can
use different keys as the arrows.
if that's not it then F*** your keyboard in
the butt and rip it apart and get a new one.
They're as cheap as 9$

USB keyboards work on both arrow keys and numpads.
