Default Voting system?

idk this probably isn't worth a thread, because i know what everyones going to say, "lullz people vote you down cuz they hate you" etc etc

anyways so, i got about 20 votes down, a basic flood of votes over the span of an hour...and so far 2 people have replied when i asked why they voted me down, a) he didn't remember voting me down, nor was he on ffr at the time (i posted a copy of the time of the vote down) b) said he hasn't remember voting anyone down...

idk if this is a glitch, random bad luck, or if some mod with sql powers hates me, but i just wanted to see if anyone got the same results from today as i did.

sorry should have searched, but i thought this would be a freak event, and actually the turn out of this thread to go to hell after the first post. Thanks, for consulting with Jason, or atleast planning on it.

even if it doesn't i don't really care.
FFR was never about the hits, the votes, or even the lulls.

Though this post is, please support me on my journey to the center of your mind.

It's not really that big of a deal.

What would've made me laugh is if this is some conspiracy as opposed to a technical issue. xD

It was pretty recent, Tass. It was only two weeks ago.

By the way, I've been getting more downvotes over the last few days (about 50, just like QC).

Hmmm, who knows, maybe people just don't like you two? I don't see why not, I mean you only have an avatar of Steve Irwin dying... 'fainting'.

But... I think FFR is turning too much into a Myspace or Facebook, I could care less about the Thumbs... Even though Ups are appreciated... (Hint Hint)

J/K

Thumbs up for you as well...

I could change the avatar and it would still happen. That has nothing to do with it.

I haven't exactly made an ass out of myself, and I'd say I'm pretty well respected. I'm a decent player, and I'm nice to most people (except the idiots).

I happened to be looking at that list in foil's thread, apparently I was on it. Now, while I am often on FFR at 6:40 in the morning, I had never been to his profile until about 20 minutes ago. I don't know if anyone pointed this out, but a lot of the accounts serving up the tasty downvotes in both foil and QuadCore's cases are forum regulars, such as TeRa, Wilkin, Tokzic, Chaz, and myself. Maybe it's a good thing I recently changed my password...

If I show up on your downvote list, it wasn't me unless I say otherwise in size 4 bold font.

I confronted a few of those people, and some spoke out in my thread claiming that they too have never even been to my page. I just recently changed my password as well, so it's not that either.

Also, yeah, a lot of these votes are from forum regulars...but some aren't. I don't necessarily think there's a pattern in it.

What I did notice is that when someone who has never seen my page visits it, and then doesn't vote, I'll automatically get a thumbs down. Like say they see my name on a score list and they click on me, and then go back to the forums or something, I'll get a thumbs down. If you thumb me up on the first visit, then I can't get a down vote. That's about as far as any patterns go. I don't know what to say for people who've never even been to my page and somehow end up giving me down votes.

Long story short, I think page views are somehow being manipulated to become down votes.
