Default Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

Commandersa1: It's possible that your pad is part of the problem. Some pads report the left/right and up/down arrows as joystick axes. That means the left pad is like pushing left on a joystick, similarly with the right pad. Since you can't push a joystick left and right at the same time, it cannot handle the left and right pads pressed at the same time. Same for up and down. Other combinations will work though.

You can tell if this is happenning by looking at what it says in the boxes underneath the remapping buttons. If you see something like "J0 X+" & "J0 X-", or perhaps "J0 POV0-W" & "J0 POV0-E", then this is your issue. A better pad reports the pads as buttons, you would see something like "J0 B5" or similar. The only pad I've seen with this problem also had 4 diagonal arrows, all reported properly as buttons, so by spinning it by 45 degrees they could be used instead.

Could you tell me what the program says your remappings are (all six values), then I might be able to work out your problem? Also what pad are you using?

Repeated boo-outs when holding really shouldn't happen - does it occur consistently?

I have noticed occasional odd behaviour with Try Again, I haven't been able to track down the problem. But it usually can be fixed by switching the mapping off and on again (hit the big "On" button twice).
