Stargroup, I understand what you're saying, but I'm also 99% sure that you have no idea how much my stepping skills have increased, that's all I have to say for now, not trying to start a flame war

FOR THE LAST TIME THIS IS NOT SM.

Yes, technical and experimental files are welcome, but I'm fairly sure that there are many more FFR players that look for fun in a file than they do for 'omg dat arow shud b da other way aroound!' or 'OMG NOT PITCH RELEVANT DELETE THE FILE AND KILL YOURSELF NOW'. Not saying that technical/experimental can't be fun (this is Final Step comes to mind).

yes I'm goddamn aware this isn't sm, but sometimes if a file isn't technical and has bad patterns that's part of what makes a file unfun

also, if we don't filter technicality as well as fun factor, there will be too many files, and there's really no other way to filter more files

also daman, while true, I don't know how much you've improved, I'm still certain you suck

since its tougher to make a file as technical as you can while abiding to FFR regulation, the fun factor is a big part. but if its not technical, it probably isnt fun in the first place. you need a good bit of both for a good file.

This is basically why I stopped playing sm. It became not about fun factor but more of a "nothing but idm, dragonforce, and obscure japanophile techno rock stuff" that had to be super hard with 16th jacks, 48th and 64th notes going to every obscure beat in the song that you could only make out on a 0.3x rate and if it was just a basic, fun file that was more 16th streamy than anything, it automatically sucked.

[Technical Factor]
- syncing/correct rhythms
- layering with dominant sounds
- pitch relevancy
- consistency

[fun factor]
- non-repetitiveness
- proper length
- putting jumps on intense parts
- index friendliness

etc. sometimes those 2 factors contradict each other, so balanced files are needed.

Can you please either get out of this thread or get proper grammar? Every single post of yours is completely incomprehensible and absurdly annoying.

And to stay on topic: Rebirth, how's that judging coming?

Psh, not true. I find the insanely hard files and the some of the easier files all to be fun.

After all, it IS just a game. >.>

stop talking. that file is 6 hells of alot better than anything you can produce.

stargroups obviously got talent, not only was that good file, he MADE the song. im sure he would know what goes where if he made it....

and plus, he got a song like DEATH PIANO queued. youve gotta have some kinda stepping skill to get that done.

i hated sunny side up, but i love all of stargroup's files that aren't that. geno makes pretty good files, like the one's he has on the db.

i played em. they all need work. especially string machine. YNS out the ass.

geno, keep up the practice. eventually, your files will get better. The man with the machine gun was semi-enjoyable, but the patterns were inconsistent, some freezes were random, and some jumps were not needed.
