"[WE] urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." - Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin (D-MI), Tom Daschle (D-SD), John Kerry( D - MA), and others Oct. 9,1998

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9,2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real" - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

Not to mention that Kerry himself violated the Geneva Convention when he served in Vietnam by firing in a no fire zone, and burning several villages in a no threat zone.

Compared to that, Bush is an angel.

In my opinion, bush is an idiot.

He got elected because of his dad's rep, and noone wants Al Gore in the white house.

I really like some of Kerry's ideas, and I hope he gets elected. Bush isnt suited for the job, and he is just a puppet behind his puppetiers known as the cabinet.

lightdarkness, WHY do you think those things? No one gave a dog's turd about who his Dad was during the election. People who mindlessly hate him like you just dug that up to have some semi-plausible reason. Also, it seems half the country wanted Al Gore in, so that reason is BS also. And last but not least, why the hell would he be a puppet of his cabinet? That makes 0 sense and if you look at his personality, you'd see it would never happen. I've seen a lot of people who speak like you do, and I tell you now, it's not true. It's a mindless hate and in truth does not make sense. Open your eyes already

MalReynolds, nice quotes, they show Kerry's true thoughts through all the lies others had spread. Also, we can be glad that the Geneva Convention hasn't been violated by Bush or by anyone in Iraq that has been discovered. (No, the prison abuse "scandal" wasn't breaking any law, it was totally legal). Sorry, just had to stick that in since you implied it had been broken very noticeably during Bush's presidency.

I am democratic, mostly. Some issues I prefer to be republican on, but certain few.

Kerry. The lesser of the two evils.

I vote Bush- the competent leader, since neither is evil and as a result you cannot pick the lesser of two evils.

Unless you back up your reasons for calling Bush a rightwing nutjob, then I'm not going to take you seriously. I know, he is republican and "nutjob" could mean any number of things, but why vote Kerry?

Mal, I have a couple reasons that I don't believe the other side is competent enough to bring up:
1. Bush allowed massive spending when he should have been cutting back
2. Bush has done almost nothing in domestic affairs in the past 4 years- he hasn't improved anything at home and may be focusing far too much on other countries.

Kerry is better than Bush? Where do people get this stuff? I bet at least ninety-five percent of Kerry's vote is an ABB vote because A) people are dumb and won't vote for Bush, and B) there is nothing to like about Kerry.

Drac, those points you bring up are actually showing Bush NOT being right-wing. I'd like to see him slash government spending and social programs. He's got a republican congress to help, too. I'm conservative mainly when it comes to domestic issues, and though I'm still waiting to see domestic reform, I know that Bush is the man to ever do it.

The fact of the matter is that Bush would represent the good of the nation far better than Kerry could hope to.
