If you want Kerry to win then you'll like this bumper sticker that I heard of...it says: Save the environment...plant a Bush back in Texas. I thought it was pretty funny.

If you are going to say something against one or the other, support it, Tosh.
Oddly enough, almost everyone I speak to is in agreement that everything will go to hell in a handbasket depending on who wins this election. What nobody can agree on is who will save us from that. The recent rifts among all the peoples of the world do nothing to help the situation. Within the US, the Democratic party has focused on a long-term whittling of Bush's reputation, and through some collaboration with the media, they have done pretty well. The Republican party has focused on aiming their guns, loading the bullets, and getting ready to blast the crap out of the entire Democratic party just before the election. The terrorists are focusing on trying to rock the boat while dodging our fists. Approx. 3/4 of half the countries of the world see danger in Bush and the US, while the other 1/4 of those countries see the global danger of terror and hope we can all unite in time. The other half the countries in the world contain a majority of people who realize extremely important things are occuring, but the workings are so complex that they stand no hope of comprehending it all, and a minority of people who have a grasp of what is truly happening and know how we should be full to the brim with hope and filled with dread should we lose. Shots have been fired back and forth for a fairly long time, but not all bullets are seen. Every supposed major fault with Bush has a rebuttle that proves overwhelmingly that it was never a fault, every fault with Kerry is minor enough to avoid detection. Bush definately has a strong leading personality, but he is seen as a severe threat by many because of his ability to lead, especially those who disagree with him. Kerry lacks a defined form- he shifts from one personality to another and splits hairs when needed, but he has clear eyes; Kerry can see the truth and danger equally as well as Bush, and both are in agreement of every action that has been done so far. The only surface difference between the two is how they would go about doing those same actions and who supports them. Bush has an entire party backing him, where nearly all are in agreement with his actions. Kerry has very little support from his party, for he sees the truths that the rest of his group refuses to accept, and he changes his beliefs to do what will not harm the country much. Bush has shown his leadership in the past four years; has supported the army, navy, and airforce when previously Clinton nearly destroyed them; has started a new space revolution; has helped our country recover from our slump and head towards a better future; has worked to correct every problem within his reach and suceeded in a majority; has led the country very strongly and overcome normally debilitating opposition; has fought for the sake of our country because of his beliefs; has done nothing to harm the country so far and has not actually lied or betrayed us [the people] a single time in his entire term. Kerry has taken the lead as opponent to Bush, even though he would do all the same things; has landed in the blind eye of the people, avoiding damage by staying hidden; has very little support from those who have looked and support him for what he is, but has a large amount of support from those who examined his opponent and did not like Bush (although they have not examined at Kerry); will probably do what is best for the country and follow his word, but has been hypocrytical and self-serving before. Essentially the world is on a needlepoint, and we have the choice between a determined protector and a wildcard to keep on from falling. Was that description balanced enough for you? |

Well, since you didnt mention "this up and coming election" I will assume you mean Bush v. Kerry in a Death-Match.
In that case, it depends...Bush is probably a better wrestler, due to his crazy coked out college years...but, if weapons are involved...then maybe Kerry, since Kerry has actually fought in a war. Though, Bush is from Texas, and probably knows how to use revolvers very well. Now, if they had to ride on SegWays then Kerry would definatly win...since GWB is the only person in the entire world who could have fallen off of a SegWay. Well, all that aside, I would want Kerry to win the deathmatch...so that way he could go on to win the election. |

I hardly think Bush has supported the armed forces by sending them to be killed....
But I know that's not what you meant. On the other hand, we have, what? A trillion-dollar deficit right now? Clinton left office with a surplus. And let's face it, the man was a player, in every meaning of the word... The upcoming election isn't really going to reveal much, except which side is bigger. Virtually no one is on the fence in what has essentially become a race between Bush and AnyoneButBushSoItMightAsWellBeKerry kind of a race. My prediction is that Bush loses the popular vote, like he did before. It's not like any of the people who didn't vote for him are going to now.... |

Clinton really did suck ass. A short while ago his own party started revealing the crap he was hiding to use as ammo on Bush, and he was the worst freakin president EVER. Everything from employment to healthcare was getting worse with him. He cut back the military to almost nothing and tried to kill the space program. He sucked at being president.
Also, about the comment with the golf, he was with BUDDIES. If you refuse to let a man have a bit of humor with his friends, then you are an A$$HOLE. He cares about everyone- he's done more for the country as a whole in 1 year than Clinton did in 8. Even though the deficit has gotten bigger, I don't think you guys realize why that is. The government has two ways of returning money to the people- buying stuff and paying off the deficit. Buying stuff is used to speed up an economy because the money goes right back in there, paying off the deficit and putting the money in banks is used to slow down the economy. The only option Bush had was to spend, and it worked. He could have paid off the deficit, but that would have destroyed us most likely. |

i don't care about the whole wang sucking incident besides the fact that he lied to us but he was just too busy dealing with all that crap to do anything else and he completely ignored foreign affairs while he was in office

Dammit, Flypie, I go away for a few days, come back, and you've stolen my topic idea! =)
I can't wait to see Bush in his second term; I think he's been a great president. I realize he's not without faults, but honestly, nothing he's done merits "bad president" status. To whom is everyone comparing Bush? What president got absolutely everything he said done? Too much shit is being blown out of proportion. Bush's merits far outweigh any negatives. As for Clinton, I was personally embarassed and ashamed as an American with the Lewinsky deal (that's not to exclude Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones, or any of the other women around whom he couldn't keep his pants up). There are a few things that you need to avoid sexual pressure: self-control, integrity, and responsibility. These are also qualities that I'd like to find in my governor or president, who is the leader of the free world. Clinton showed that he had none of these things when he first solicited sexual favors, then received them, then lied under oath in front of a federal grand jury and the entire American people who elected him to be their representative to the world. I wouldn't want a man with poor character and judgment to be an icon for my beloved country, and to betray those who thought that that's what they were getting with Clinton is just low and very disrespectful. Now, I've got much more beef with Clinton, but Drac kinda got a lot of it, and I wanted to get this out because it irritates me when people say "Oh, I didn't care that he got a bj, but his lie was kinda bad". Honestly, though, this poll should be changed to "Who do you want to win: Bush, or anybody but Bush?", because I think there are about three people in this nation who actually like Kerry because he's Kerry. All he's done is taken stands on what was most politically opportune at the time (following in Clinton's poll-appeasing leadership, eh?), whereas Bush actually has standards to which he sticks. Regarding the armed forces, when soldiers join they basically sign a contract saying that their life belongs to the Commander-in-Chief, so I really don't get this "sending them to die" argument. A loss of a few hundred soldiers out of almost a hundred fifty thousand during and after a war is pretty good. In the case of the deficit, I think this is a fine time for him to start slashing government. Cut and/or reform big spending programs to drastically reduce the deficit and even possibly give us a surplus. Anyway, those are my thoughts for now. I'd like to keep this thread running with current events up until the election. Oh, and Moogy, nice link. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Guido, ha ha sorry I kind of just came up with the topic lol...I couldnt agree more with you over the Clinton paragraph (you too Drac)...
" I'd like to keep this thread running with current events up until the election. "-Guido....yea I would, too. Also, about the topic title I agree with you there...mostly everyone who doesnt like Bush would vote for anyone but him. |
