I usually only play 20-30 songs a day now. I used to play 300-500ish day. Now my wrists hurt and I cant type that fast anymore.

I find it hilarious people can get RSI/Carpal on FFR songs, my wrists are thin as hell but I haven't got anything over 1½ years of playing SM and songs on that aren't like here, if someone played Amber Shores for a good amount of time and near-passing / passing often I might understand their hands are killed in the process.
Hand positioning could be a big deal, I tend to elevate my left hand and keep my right hand resting on the table. Sometimes I elevate both, it feels pretty fluent way to play. |

Some people play Differently. I play with the keyboard at the edge of the desk and my hand slanting downwards. So Thats why my hands hurt allot.

If you experience pain when playing, then it's best to change the way you position your hands.
I used to play on a low keyboard where my wrist was perpendicular to my hand. That's not exactly healthy. I had pains in my arm, and my mother almost made me quit (she has carpal tunnel from her work as a mechanic). I moved the keyboard higher and played with my wrists straight, and I haven't had pain like that since then. That was almost a year ago.

Yeah, Lump, it always depends on what style you use. And by that, I mean how hard you press the keys and how much wrist you put into it.
But generally, FFR isn't hard enough to require major wrist actions; only on a handful of songs. SM nearly DEMANDS a death sentence for your wrists. Everyone is like, "Play fast songs and jacky songs all day and get good passes and AAs!!!" rather than, "Go for the quads on easy songs and SDPs on JS and stream files!" |

trust me on this, just quit for like, a week, if thats not to hard from you, the problem on carpel goes away for a bit, as long as you dont be stupid and whore when you have the sharp pain...youll have carpel forever.
just be careful about it k? |

hey lumphobe, do you keep your wrists elevated or do you rest them on a level surface with the keyboard?

I hade tendinitis or something like that and I was hurting as hell. I had to stop for 3 month and now, I'm alright. Since then I didn't played more than 50songs by day. I don't play a lot now like 40 games in 3 or 4 days but I'm still good.
A tip wait 2 or 3 weeks and do like 5 songs in a row (nothing higher than challenging) and see if you have pain. |

Stop whining.
When I play hard songs(Fury of the storm, dragonforce in general) my wrist feels like its being cut with a chainsaw and the reamputated and cut again. and I dont whine. I doubt u have carpal. CBR |

It's an internet game. Everyone is bound to get it to some degree at some point.
Personally, I got mine bowling, but games dont help. Either stop playing the game or stop complaining. |

yes I am being retarded mister OTAKA, but yeah, that's what I was thinking about, and the doctor called, what he thought was scar tissue was actually something else, it's from when I cut my wrist a year ago and it still didn't heal all the way, so it's probably RSI, yay! I'm going to go play FFR now! But only easy songs, Epidermis being the hardest... |
