My teacher pulled me out of the class for writing a short story in the place of a math question I didn't know the answer to. I was honest and told her I didn't know the answer to the question so instead of wasting my time with something I don't know I wrote something to improve my English skill. I was sent to the office because I was rude. I did it again next test and this time the teacher decided to give me a lecture on yada yada yada. Upon then end I was suggested to change to a lower academically challenging class. I stated to the teacher that I was unable to do so because if I did it would show up as two math courses on my transcript, one being the newer class and another being a fail for this one. Office for being rude. I learnt my lesson so this time I just wrote random bull numbers and equations. I swear I have the worst teacher ever because I somehow got in trouble for this. I wanted to test my teachers. So during my speech all I did was nod. I wasn't even paying attention (hot asian girl down the hall). When the teacher stopped talking and seemed to require a response I simply said, "I'm sorry." Didn't get in trouble for that. Isn't something wrong when you provide and educated, non rude reply to teachers yet you get in trouble for it. It's as if they abuse their power because they (try to) teach us. |

How bout u dont and we'll all be happy
my school doesnt allow any type of hair period, and they have 0 tolerance... so if ur school wants to be racist, and suspend u, and u have witnesses, sue their asses, which, in this particular case, wud be applicable, so long as wut u say isnt bs

If there's any true problem with the school, it's the material that I deem uncessary. This includes: -Almost the entire subject of Algebra. -The geometry that we're studying at the moment. -Most of language arts. I understand that they help us with logic, and also might help us interpret the necessary lessons better, but does anyone else think that there's just too much of it? |

1. If you were in Canada, you would know what the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is, and racism has 0 tolerance on it, thus accounting it for suing elligibility. 2. Why the hell would anyone talk to their principal about all this? It's the prinicipal who acknowledges the gay agenda codes anyway. 3. No I don't think there's too much of anything in schools in my province, except bs. 4. Next time, how bout you make statements based on accusations, rather than insults (suing is foolish)?

-If it looked like I aimed to insult, then mybad, but I still don't think that sueing would be the best solution. Hell, if you tell your administrative staff, you could get the teacher punished or fired as opposed to the half-and-half situation of a civil suit. Filing the suit to begin with, convincing the court that the teacher commited a racist/biased act, hiring an attorney, etc. Telling the admins would simply get them to stop; you haven't addressed any other problems with the whole teacher situation, so I'm assuming that this might be the only problem. And honestly, unless you're psychologically harmed, you really don't need the money that comes with a civil suit. I've seen foolish reasons to sue, and they've earned the peoples lots of money, so it might happen. However, all that mess just isn't worth it. Gaining wealth is one of the last things on my mind right now. It's best to maintain your wealth before you aim to increase it. |

1. In Ontario, a province in Canada, for example, they dont give a **** about the rules in a local school. It's the school student and parent council who makes it. 2. The principal always has final say, in other words, he could veto any rule he wanted including hair. 3. In US, you can't sue teacher because they have a national union, preventing them from **** all, even when they're accused of racists acts, but here, it's different. Suing their asses would get you money and rid yourself of the teacher/problem. ![]()

Um, nothing that Spinal has said has included anything that would remotely be grounds for a lawsuit.
Those rules are, unfortunately for her, at the discretion of teachers persuant to the approval of the VP/Principal. About the only way you could get around such a thing with regards to your hairstyle, would be to get something in writing from the principal that says what you've done is okay, and you can just shove that in the face of any teacher who tries to give you grief. Quote:
Those two assumptions (if true) suggest that the administration probably takes the public image of the school quite seriously, and in order to continue to secure funding from parents and the board and the government, feel they have a certain austere image to maintain. This lends itself therefore to the rules against "excessive" ornamentation. If you've got uniforms, that already takes care of -most- of the image issue, but kids will therefore move all of their creativity and independant expression to accessories and hair, so there are rules in place to limit that going too over the top. We had a vice principal come to work at our school having previously worked at a school smack in a bad area of Toronto, and she took every rule substantially more seriously than anyone else in our administration. Within two weeks my school (which had in 4 years had 1 fight total) sprouted a half dozen security cameras, spot locker searches, a much increased frequency of visits from drug dogs and a host of other things which were completely ridiculous for a small town catholic school. Unfortunately, it is the nature of the seperate school board that it can make and enforce its own rules, answerable really only to a given PTA and Board of Directors. So what you ought to do, if you really feel that the rule is being enforced unfairly, and that people are being mistreated, is gather up some evidence (Like, take pictures of the hair and jewelry people are wearing that get them in trouble that you think shouldn't get them in trouble) and actually make a request to appear in front of the board (And there will be board meetings at -least- monthly probably somewhere near enough that you can get to) and just spell out your issue. Tell them that the rules are being enforced unequally. Some teachers are allowing what others are forbidding, with no real reason to do so. Some things that should be acceptable aren't, some things that shouldn't be are, and the students in general feel as though their rights are being trampled because there are no clear guidelines. Make a few suggestions to expand what exactly constitutes excessive or extreme. With regards to hair dying, volunteer that dying it non-human colours (blue, purple, green etc) can count as excessive as long as any and all natural colours become allowed etc. Do the same for various accessories. Point out to them that the more complete the guidelines, the less people will have to get in trouble because there is a disagreement between the student and teacher, or even between one teacher and another, as to what does or doesn't follow the rules. Basically, the more complete you make your case, the more the board is going to agree with you, and you can get what you want without looking like anything other than a concerned student. |

I completely agree, I don't even bother when it comes to his posts. I swear I could write the words ''hi i'm boondocks77'' and he could give you a 3 page analysis about why something I said would be wrong. But don't worry we still love you ^^

There is a meeting in two weeks. I'm hoping that either myself or the student council will present this case to them. I'm not fighting for rules to be disregarded. I'm fighting for a base upon which we make our rules. Allowing everyone to be treated fairly. Quote:

While I can only imagine the situation would have played out more in your favor if the teacher believed you "have rights," as in, he treats you more like an adult, on the other hand, he also has the right to send you to the principal's office for disruptive or inappropriate speech. Now that's arguable, so here's hoping you took it up appropriately with the dean or v.p. I suggest ignoring perkeyone's RATM-esque diatribe and await the verdict on this issue.

ah. all that was directed at the topic creator.
i hate catholic schools in general, and any other school in which you need to wear uniform. Or lanyards for that matter.. My school we wear w.e we want.. some teachers even let us get away with wearing hats.. schools that enforce things upon the students are stupid xDD |
