![]() I believe there should be a total song score as a game statistic. It would be the combination of all of your best scores on each song. Of course there would be a hi-score table for the top (insert number here)
Keep in mind that it does not have to be called the "Total Song Score" (couldn't think of anything better), and it is different from the grand total score. Yeah, I just finished playing all the songs two days ago, I think. Really hard to finish off all those easy songs, especially when trying to AAA them. Gets so annoying...

![]() It seems like a bit of an arbitrary statistic... And the fact that getting 1,000,000 on an easy song has a totally different meaning to getting 1,000,000 on an FMO song, for example. So it's a bit unweighted also.

![]() I also agree with y0tta, it would be weighted too heavily towards easy songs. Now if hard songs could be weighted more heavily... THEN maybe this would be a good idea. Ie. Easiest songs have multiplier of 1 and FGO songs have multiplier of 12.

![]() When you consider that a game like this is largely static in progression (new songs get added, but there aren't massive major gameplay effecting changes like there are on say, MMOs) you get a lot of user burnout/boredom.
Statistically, the most time:benefit method for owners of a game to encourage repeat play, and a growing playerbase, especially one where the game isn't the kind where "new major content" is really something you can do, is to increase as much as possible the number of visible goals for players to work towards. How much more play did the site get when levelrank.php was something everyone could see? How much more play is it getting now that the AAA/FC bar is visible in profiles? Regional stats? I bet in all those cases it is "Measureably more" The more stats they throw at us, the more numbers we can try to maximize/minimize, the more we'll want to play. |
