It was the first 3d RPG, on TOP of having an expansive storyline, that shoved Square Enix into it's top selling days. Chrono Trigger on the other hand, had a great storyline, and it immersed you in a world as large, if not larger than FF7, but I think FF7 did win this fight, partly because 50% of RPG fans have never played Chrono.
