Just a question - can we use the official music ripped from the game or do we have to find a remix/remastered version? I have a few Sonic CD and RUSH mp3s (gotten from Kewing Darksun) that could make great files.

And does this rule apply to EVERY game?

you can't use stuff straight from the game. gotta be remixed in some way. and that applies for all VG.

Carnival Night Zone was from Sonic 3, not Sonic and Knuckles.

I'm looking through OCRemix now.

Unless there's some other game I'm completely forgetting, Sonic 3 and Knuckles is just the regular Sonic 3 game put into the Sonic & Knuckles Peripheral. Sonic & Knuckles is the game itself.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the complete game.

Due to time constraints they went ahead and released Sonic 3 with the original first 6 levels, and then a few months later released Sonic And Knuckles with the attachment. These games weren't exactly backwards compatible per-say, as they had been planning something like this all along since Sonic 2 came out, IIRC.

The only way you can get Super Tails, Hyper Sonic, and Hyper Knuckles as well as the Ultimate chaos emeralds (Whatever they were called), was through the connection method.

So, Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles = Complete game.

Just thought I'd add my two cents in... I used to be an avid Sonic fan.

EDIT: Oh- You were also given more save slots, in addition to being able to pick Sonic and Knuckles levels in the stage/save select screen.

It'd be hard, though not impossible, to acquire permission from every single music artist that collaborated in the album. I'm skeptical about full permission.
