I'm certain at least something would have been leaked if there were security cameras inside the buildings. At least in the older buildings at Baylor I don't think there are cameras. Actually, I'm not sure there are cameras anywhere except in the parking garages because cars were getting broken into.

I get edgy when I hear the term mentally ill. I'm extremely unstable, with a myriad of disorders, and I find it disheartening that "mental illness" is seen as the same as "psychopathy". I experience psychotic episodes, but I'm not a psychopath.

I don't go out and kill people. I play doom, watch violent movies with abandon, drink alcohol and have done mild drugs, and I'm also not quite sane. But, I haven't decided to go pop somebody in the head.

i dunno...I heard that it was a Viet guy who got really pissed off at his girlfriend and they broke up and he just went berserk. And if anyone has already said that then uh, sorry....too lazy to look through pages. I didn't know anyone from there but my brother had some friends from VT and now...I'm gonna have to put VT off the list for colleges

Uhm, he wasn't Vietnamese, and about killing his girlfriend, not true.

Also, I don't quite get how drugs and alcohol have anything to do with mental illness. Yeah, your head gets messed up because of those things, but it's called brain damage. I don't even know myself, or, I'm not sure if he did those things, but it's basically from the fact that he was mentally ill and needed help. It's really sad still that he couldn't get the help he really needed, and that no one tried to help him, despite being pushed away, someone should have at least tried some more to get through to him. And why didn't his parents do anything to help, if they knew about this? Assuming they did know since its their son, but then again, some people just don't understand their children at all, and try to deny the fact that something is wrong with them.

So because of an incident that was highly unlikely in the first place and definitely unlikely to happen again, you are going to cross off a school that, aside from this one blemish, has an excellent reputation as an institute of higher learning.

Here are two tips:
1) Get your facts straight before you start blowing steam out of your ass.
2) Pull your head out of your ass. Any school you choose COULD become the site of another attack of this caliber. Better not go to college, just sit in your bedroom terrified that you could possibly be killed. But, oh, wait, people die in their homes, too. Looks like you're screwed.

Yeah, uhm, I hate how people are all like suddenly saying that they don't want to go to college at Tech anymore just because of this one tragic incident. Trust me, it's a very, very good school. Conveniently in-state for my brother who plans on attending once he graduate high school.

The school is amazing, just.. I guess this one single student was way out of the ordinary, but he's gone now, so no need to fuss about it and think that going there is going to get you killed. You're a complete moron if you think that.

im the same way. and yeah, i sort of can see where this guy is coming from. kids wouldnt go to classes if he was in them, and teachers wouldnt want to teach him. of course hes gonna be pissed off, but still. they could have at least done things to help him out.

What happened is having a huge effect on people all across the nation. There have been multiple bomb threats to schools in my city. A lot of parents are pulling their kids out of school. I live in a more fortunate part of the city and so many people are stuck up. They alienate almost everyone who is any bit different, myself included. Our prom is this weekend and people are terrified that someone is going to bring a gun.

The governor of Virginia is going to be on my campus today... and there will be a moment of silence at noon with various bells tolling. We were also suggested to wear VT colors, but I don't have any.
