Unreal Tournament 2003
Counter Strike
Halo

III. You can't compare CS to UT/Halo, they're entirely different playing styles.

Ok, Halo is fun, yes, but its is so freaking overrated. People talk about it as if it were the best shooter ever made. It's a fun ass game, no denying it, but its not the best game I've ever played, its not the best shooter ever, its not the revolutionary game for the ages. Seriously.

CS is round-based, team vs team, realistic guns
UT/Halo do not have realistic guns, (I don't know much about halo cause i'm not an xbox *** so if i'm wrong about any of these other things plz ignore that heh) is deathmatch (as in you respawn right away), have multiple play modes, etc etc.

It's like saying microsoft's flight simulator is comparable to descent because you fly a plane in both.

Also, Halo, and first person shooters in general are WAY overrated. The whole genre is overrated. Halo is so overrated it's sickening.

They are and they aren't.
Yes they are both first person shooters.
They are extremely different gameplay styles though, and you can't compare the quality of games with such drastically different gameplay styles. There are people who hate CS because the gameplay is too slow for them, and there are people who hate UT/Halo for it's lack of realism and such. So it's not an objective question at all. It's just asking "which style of play do you prefer?"
If I were to ask you which is a better game, StepMania (using your fingers) or DDR, what would you base your answer on?

Arch, live and let live would ya? First Person Shooters are extremely fun for people who like the genre, just like bemani games are extremely fun for you.
