What are you confused about? It's pretty simple, really. S&M is Sadism and Masochism. It goes along with bondage. It's pretty much a submissive / dominant form of sex based on the the dominant person inflicting (sometimes sexual) pain on the other in order to heighten pleasure.

It obviously works for some couples since it's pretty popular. In terms of what it actually is, well, put it with Kama Sutra. It's just a technique used to make sex more enjoyable.

Why would you want to shun yourself from learning things? Learning as much as you possibly can about as much as you possibly can should be the goal of any human being.
